Job summary

Motherson in Chennai, India, seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to drive highly automated manufacturing projects. You will work with conveyor systems, machine vision, robotics, and complex electrical controls to deliver reliable production lines.

The role requires hands-on PLC programming across Delta, Mitsubishi, Siemens, and Allen-Bradley platforms, plus HMI/SCADA development, motion control, and sensor integration in high-volume environments.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years hands-on experience in manufacturing automation or automation project execution.
• Experience in greenfield manufacturing projects from concept to production handover.
• Experience in consumer durables, automotive, electronics manufacturing or similar high-volume automated environments.

Role & responsibilities

• Experience in highly automated manufacturing environments with conveyor systems, machine vision systems, and robotics.
• PLC programming (Delta, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Allen-Bradley preferred).
• HMI and SCADA development.
• Industrial robotics and motion control systems.
• Pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Electrical controls, panel design, and schematic interpretation.
• Sensor integration and industrial communication protocols.
• Knowledge of industrial motors, servo motors, servo drives, and VFDs.
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
