Job summary

POST A RESUME HR Consultancy seeks an Automation Engineer to design, develop and commission PLC programs, integrating machine vision and HMI/SCADA, with on-site installation and training responsibilities.

The role requires hands-on PLC experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, and Rockwell platforms, plus servo drive tuning and multi-axis motion control. Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in relevant engineering and 2–6 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley (RS Logix/Studio 5000), Siemens (TIA Portal), Schneider (EcoStruxure), Rockwell.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot PLC programs across multiple platforms.
• Work on motion control systems: servo drives, multi-axis synchronization, camprofiles, motion sequencing.
• Develop and integrate machine vision systems for inspection and quality checks.
• Develop HMI/SCADA screens with alarms, diagnostics, and recipe management.
• Conduct on-site installation, testing, validation (FAT/SAT), and customer training.
• Diagnose and resolve automation faults to minimize downtime.
• Travel to site solo or with a teammate as required.
• Interface with sensors, actuators, pneumatics, and control panels.
• Prepare project documentation: logic flow, IO lists, wiring updates, service reports.

Job description

As an Automation Engineer will be responsible to develop program from scratch and must be responsible for Installation, testing and commissioning for the same.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot PLC programs using (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, and Rockwell, etc) platforms.
• Work extensively on motion control systems, including servo drives, multi-axis synchronization, camprofiles, and motion sequencing.
• Develop and integrate machine vision systems (Cognex / Keyence / NI Vision / Basler) for inspection, orientation, and quality checks.
• Develop HMI/SCADA screens with alarms, diagnostics, and recipe management.
• Conduct on-site machine installation, testing, validation (FAT/SAT), and customer training.
• Diagnose and resolve automation faults quickly to minimize machine downtime.
• He has to visit / travel to site alone OR with another team member as and when required.
• Interface with sensors, actuators, pneumatic systems, and electrical control panels.
• Prepare project documentation including logic flow, IO lists, wiring updates, and service reports.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience in PLC Programming.
• Hands-on experience with Allen Bradley (RS Logix/Studio 5000), Siemens (TIA Portal), Schneider (EcoStruxure), Rockwell.
• Expertise in servo drive configuration, tuning, and multi-axis motion control (Positioning, Gearing, Camming).
• Strong understanding of vision tools, pattern matching, measurements, barcode/OCR, defect detection, etc.
• Familiarity with industrial networks: Ether CAT, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, RS485.

Qualifications

• Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 2 to 6 Years of experience would be good.
• If you have experiences for FMCG / Pharma sector in industrial Automation will have added advantage.
