Job summary

JSW MG Motor India Pvt Ltd is seeking an Automation Engineer to drive electrical and controls projects for GA and paint shop lines. You will work on PLC/HMI/VFD programming, robot integration with Fanuc systems, and electrical panel design, ensuring robust control architectures.

Key tasks include feasibility studies, bid packaging, budget preparation, and technical reviews, with emphasis on safety and productivity improvements in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs including GuardLogix/ControlLogix/CompactLogix.
• Hands-on HMI programming for AB and SIMENS environments.
• Knowledge of VFDs and electrical control architectures.
• Design and review of electrical control panels for GA and Paint shop lines.
• Robot programming for Fanuc in welding/paint applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead feasibility studies for automation in paint shop and GA M&E systems.
• Plan and develop electrical/control specifications and bid packages.
• Implement electrical and control architectures for GA/paint M&Es.
• Prepare estimates and budgets for new projects.
• Define scope, PRs, and convert POs; support technical bid reviews.
• Elect/controls evaluation, scheduling, and progress updates.
• Review and approve electrical/controls drawings.
• Program and modify PLC, HMI, VFD, and robots for new and legacy M&Es.
• Identify automation solutions to boost productivity, quality, and safety.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Paint shop and General Assembly M&E Automation and control system feasibility study, planning, develop specification, technical bid package preparation.

2. Implementation Electrical & Control architecture for GA and Paint shop M&Es, Paint and GA Robotic system,

3. Study of equipment and understand the requirement from shop ME for design the electrical and controls system .

4. Preparation of estimation/ budget for new project and technical review.

5. Preparation of scope of requirement, PRs, and converting the PO.

6. Technical evaluation of bidders, project scheduling, master dot updating and ensure to implement the electrical and control system

7. Electrical and Controls drawings review & approvals

8. PLC, HMI, VFD, Robot programming & modification for new and existing M&Es.

9. Identified automation solution to increase the productivity, quality & safety of the operation.

Preferred candidate profile

• Allen Bradley PLC programming (Competency and hands on experience in Allen Bradley make PLC with which include Guard Logix, Control Logix, Compact Logix, Working with other make PLC & HMI have an additional preference)
• Allen Bradley and SIMENS HMI programming
• Allen Bradley /SIEMENS Variable frequency drive
• Electrical Control Panel design
• Robot programming in Fanuc make robot (Welding and Paint application in automobile.
