Job summary

Othello Projects in Vadodara is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to oversee end-to-end procurement of civil and construction materials, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines.

You will build supplier networks, negotiate terms, manage POs and contracts, and coordinate with Project, Planning, Engineering, Stores and Accounts teams to meet requirements while driving cost savings. Experience with SAP HANA is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and develop vendors based on quality, price, capacity, delivery timelines and reliability.
• Source materials and products through market research and price benchmarking to ensure competitive procurement.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from multiple vendors and negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, credit terms and other commercial conditions.
• Prepare and analyse costing, comparative statements and rate comparisons and recommend vendors based on cost, quality and delivery.
• Coordinate with Project, Planning, Engineering, Stores and Accounts teams to understand material requirements, specifications and delivery schedules.
• Ensure timely placement of Purchase Orders, Work Orders and contracts in accordance with approved requirements and commercial terms.
• Prepare, review and negotiate purchase and work contracts, ensuring agreed terms are properly documented.
• Monitor POs and vendor commitments for timely delivery of materials/services as per project schedules.
• Maintain an updated vendor database covering vendor profile, product range, rates, performance and payment terms.
• Develop long-term relationships with reliable vendors and ensure continuous availability of critical construction materials.
• Monitor vendor performance on quality, cost, delivery and service and take corrective action where required.
• Maintain procurement records, quotations, comparative statements, POs, WOs, contracts and supporting documents for audit and management review.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities through bulk procurement, alternate sourcing and value engineering.
• Prepare regular procurement reports covering orders placed, pending requirements, vendor status, cost savings and delivery status.
• Guide and supervise the purchase team and ensure effective allocation and completion of procurement activities.
