Job summary

Othello Projects in Vadodara seeks a seasoned Lead – Purchase & Procurement to manage procurement across multiple real estate projects. You will drive strategies for civil, finishing and MEP materials, develop vendors, negotiate contracts and ensure timely material availability.

You will coordinate with engineering and project teams, oversee tendering, ensure compliance, and lead a procurement team to deliver on budgets and timelines with a focus on cost control and quality.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and execute procurement strategies for civil, finishing, MEP materials and services, cost optimization and quality assurance.
• Oversee sourcing, costing, vendor development, negotiations and finalization of Purchase Orders, Rate Contracts and Service Agreements.
• Review and approve project-wise procurement plans per budgets, timelines and safety/regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Design, QS and Project teams to finalize material/service requirements.
• Manage end-to-end tendering and contracting, including vendor prequalification and evaluations.
• Monitor procurement activities for quality, cost, delivery and contractual compliance.
• Ensure vendor bill certification, cash-flow planning and timely payments; maintain vendor relationships.
• Establish procurement controls, MIS and reporting for transparency and decision-making.
• Lead and develop the purchase team; set targets and drive process improvement.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines.
• Support leadership in risk assessment and procurement process improvement.

Job description

• Lead and manage the Purchase & Procurement function for multiple real estate projects, ensuring timely availability of materials and services in line with project schedules and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Formulate and execute procurement strategies for civil, finishing, MEP materials and services, focusing on cost optimization, quality assurance and reliable supply.
• Oversee product sourcing, costing, vendor development, negotiations and finalization of Purchase Orders, Rate Contracts and Service Agreements.
• Review and approve project-wise procurement plans in line with approved budgets, timelines, safety norms, statutory requirements and internal procurement policies.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Design, QS and Project teams to review drawings, BOQs and technical specifications and finalize material/service requirements.
• Manage end-to-end tendering and contracting, including vendor prequalification, technical/commercial evaluation, rate analysis, negotiations and appointment of contractors/subcontractors.
• Monitor procurement and contracting activities for quality, cost, delivery schedules and contractual compliance.
• Ensure accurate vendor bill certification, cash-flow planning and timely vendor payments while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
• Establish procurement controls, MIS, reporting systems and approval frameworks for transparency and management decision-making.
• Lead, mentor and develop the purchase team, set performance targets and drive continuous process improvement.
• Identify value engineering, alternate sourcing and cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, safety or project timelines.
• Support senior leadership in risk assessment, vendor performance evaluation and procurement process improvement.
• Preferred Age: 30-45 years.
• Managerial experience is essential.
• Familiarity with SAP HANA will be an added advantage.
