Job summary

Venkateswara Ready Mix Concrete, Hyderabad, is seeking an experienced Purchase Manager to oversee end-to-end procurement for infrastructure and construction projects. You will source materials, negotiate with suppliers, issue POs, monitor costs, and ensure timely material availability at sites.

You will develop a vendor network, evaluate supplier performance, coordinate with project teams and accounts, and drive cost reductions while complying with project budgets and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering will be an added advantage.

Infrastructure & Construction

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager to manage the complete procurement and purchasing activities for infrastructure and construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing purchase orders, controlling procurement costs, and ensuring the timely availability of materials at project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage procurement activities for all infrastructure and construction projects.
• Source and purchase construction materials, equipment, machinery, spare parts and services.
• Develop and maintain a reliable network of vendors, suppliers and manufacturers.
• Obtain quotations, compare prices, quality and delivery terms, and prepare comparative statements.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, credit periods and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Issue and monitor Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements and budgets.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites to avoid project delays.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, stores and accounts departments regarding material requirements.
• Monitor material prices and identify opportunities for cost reduction and bulk purchasing.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, delivery and service.
• Maintain proper records of quotations, purchase orders, vendor details and procurement reports.
• Ensure purchased materials meet required technical specifications and quality standards.
• Manage procurement of key construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, sand, RMC, admixtures, electrical materials, plumbing materials and other project requirements.
• Handle procurement of plant and machinery requirements, spare parts and maintenance materials.
• Track pending orders and follow up with suppliers for timely dispatch and delivery.
• Coordinate with accounts for invoice verification, payment processing and vendor reconciliation.
• Ensure all purchases follow company policies, approved budgets and authorization procedures.
• Prepare regular reports on purchase value, savings, pending orders and vendor performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering will be an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 510 years of experience in purchasing/procurement.
• Experience in infrastructure, construction, RMC, roads, buildings, industrial projects or EPC projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials and supplier markets.
