Amneal Pharmaceuticals LLC is seeking a senior Process Safety Leader to drive safety culture and governance across manufacturing sites in India. You will lead the development and implementation of PSM programs, mentor site teams, and ensure compliance with international safety standards.

The role requires extensive experience in high hazard operations, deep knowledge of PSM methodologies, and the ability to influence at many levels.

Qualifications

  • At least 12–14 years of Process Safety Experience in high hazard operations.
  • Deep knowledge of Process Safety methodologies (HAZOP, LOPA, DHA, QRA) and national/international codes.
  • Understanding of DSC, RC, ARST, Dust studies and their prevention precautions.
  • Significant experience in developing PSM standards/procedures within high hazard industries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PSM across the group and drive compliance with policies and guidance.
  • Influence manufacturing sites and line functions to implement Process Safety standards at unit level.
  • Plan long-term improvements in PSM performance, anticipate risks, and integrate safety into strategic goals.
  • Manage complex safety challenges across sites and provide ongoing handholding and support.
  • Build capability of line professionals on Process Safety standards and lead audits and improvements.

Job description

To lead Process Safety and provide expertise to drive process safety management activities within Manufacturing to achieve compliance with Policies/ Guidance’s and build Process Safety Excellence Culture to achieve ultimate goal of Zero Harm.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Introducing and driving effective implementation of PSM programs across Group
  • Influencing and engaging /supporting manufacturing sites /line functions to implement Process Safety Standards /Guidelines at Units Levels.
  • Lead long term planning to ensure continuous improvement in PSM performance including anticipating future risks, implementing new safety technologies and integrating Process Safety Management into broader strategic goals.
  • Responsible for managing and mitigating complex safety challenges including High Risk Processes /Storages and continuous support and handholding to Manufacturing sites.
  • Proactive capability building of line function professionals on various Process Safety Standards/ Guidelines and handholding for further implementation.
  • Constantly keeping control over High-Risk Processes /Storages across all Technical /Formulation sites with defined audit mechanism and appraise site Leaders of any deviation.
  • Deep knowledge of Process Safety methodologies (e.g. HAZOP, DHA, QRA etc) and applicable national /international codes /standards
  • Clear understanding of DSc, RC, ARST, Dust studies and its preventions.
  • Support New Product Introduction / Projects for successful compliance of 7 step Product Life cycle approach and appraise management of any deviation /support.
  • To track and press for onsite completion of high-risk actions from various risk assessment activities for each site.
  • To regularly review and ensure accuracy and robust implementation, analyse trends, and develop improvement plans based on key Process Safety Indicators.
  • To advice on response to Process Safety incidents and facilitate root cause analysis
  • To improve and develop Process Safety practices to ensure they are embedded and sustainable and driving Process Safety Culture Excellence
  • To provide advice on impact of local /global regulations and standards in leading Group wide Process Safety activities
  • To take on any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
  • Actively support Overall Cultural Transformation / Process Safety CFT activities at Group and Cluster level and support as Subject matter experts on various needs time to time.
  • This role requires travel in given region to manufacturing sites.
