The ideal candidate will review P&IDs, piping layouts and mechanical drawings, ensure compliance with ASME and IBR standards, and apply thermal power plant knowledge to optimize layouts and safety. The incumbent will coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, and internal teams, addressing design issues and risks

Qualifications

• Review and interpret P&IDs, piping layouts and mechanical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, IBR and relevant thermal power plant codes.
• Familiar with Heat and Mass Balance calculations and applications in power plants.
• Review deliverables, specs, datasheets and vendor docs for quality and compatibility.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, consultants, vendors and internal project teams.
• Identify design issues and engineering risks; drive timely resolution.
• Review engineering deliverables and technical specifications to ensure accuracy and safety.

Job Description:

• Proficiency in reviewing and interpreting P&IDs, piping layouts, and mechanical engineering drawings.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, IBR, and applicable thermal power plant engineering codes and standards.
• Exposure to Heat and Mass Balance (H&MB) calculations and their application in power plant systems.
• Experience in plant and equipment layout review and optimization, considering operability, maintainability, safety, accessibility, and space utilization.
• Familiarity with mechanical engineering design and analysis software/tools.
• Ability to review engineering deliverables, technical specifications, datasheets, drawings, and vendor documentation.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and interfaces within thermal power plant projects.
• Ability to identify design issues, engineering risks, and interface gaps and coordinate timely resolution.
• Good coordination skills for working with OEMs, EPC contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal project teams.
