Job summary

Talent Corner Hr Services'' client in Gujarat seeks an experienced Mechanical Design Head to lead the design and engineering function for heavy equipment, from concept to manufacturing.

You will manage the design team, ensure compliance with codes, drive optimization, mentor engineers, and coordinate with Sales, Projects, Manufacturing, and Quality to deliver on time.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in mechanical design within heavy engineering.
• Strong knowledge of ASME, TEMA, IS, API, and other industry codes and standards.
• Proficiency in PV Elite or equivalent design software.
• Experience in leading engineering teams and handling multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Mechanical Design department for heavy engineering projects.
• Develop and review designs, drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with Sales, Projects, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams for seamless project execution.
• Review and approve GA drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, and engineering documents.
• Drive design optimization, value engineering, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Mentor and develop a team of design engineers and draftsmen.
• Participate in technical discussions with customers, consultants, and third-party inspection agencies.
• Support proposal engineering and provide technical inputs during project bidding.
• Ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables while maintaining quality standards.

Role Overview

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of ASME, TEMA, IS, API, and other relevant industry codes and standards.
• Proficiency in PV Elite or equivalent design software.
• Experience in leading engineering teams and handling multiple projects simultaneously.
