Job summary

Sigma Engineered Solutions in Pune district seeks an experienced supervisor to manage Gravity Die Casting operations. You will oversee 10–15 operators, drive daily targets, monitor OEE and cycle times, and coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to assure process discipline.

The role requires strong knowledge of GD&T, QC tools and safety practices, plus hands-on training of operators in die coating, pouring, trimming, and fettling. Pune location with manufacturing focus.

Qualifications

• Reading 2D drawings, GD&T, vernier, micrometer, bore gauge for in-process inspection.
• Knowledge of QC tools: 7QC, 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, CAPA; TPM aware.
• Experience leading shifts of 10–15 operators and coordinating with maintenance, quality, PPC, stores.

Responsibilities

• Shift handling for 10–15 operators with work allocation and skill matrix.
• Daily production planning: targets vs achievement, OEE, cycle-time reduction, die-changeover.
• Enforce safety: PPE, molten metal safety, lockout/tagout, 5S and safety audits.
• Train operators on die coating, safe pouring, trimming and fettling.
• Coordinate with maintenance, quality, PPC, and stores.

Job description

1. Technical Expertise

Core GDC Process Knowledge: Gravity die casting process, die temperature control (180-280C), coating ( Dycote ), pouring temperature, solidification. Tooling & Dies: Die design understanding, die maintenance schedule, core pins, ejector pins, venting, draft angle. Metallurgy: Aluminium alloys - A356, AlSi10 Mg, degassing, grain refinement, modification (Sr).Melting: Furnace operation (crucible / tower melting), dross management, hydrogen testing, chemistry control. Defect Control: Can identify & fix - gas porosity, shrinkage, cold shut, misrun, sticking, drag marks.

2. Quality & Process Control-

Reading 2D drawings, GD&T, using vernier, micrometre, bore gauge. In-process inspection, first article approval, SPC. Knowledge of QC tools: 7QC, 5 Why, Fishbone, 8D, CAPA. Familiar with TPM activity.

3. Supervisor / Leadership Capability-

Manpower Handling: Shift handling (10-15 operators), work allocation, skill matrix. Production Planning: Daily target vs achievement, OEE, cycle time reduction, die changeover. Safety: PPE enforcement, molten metal safety, lock-out tag-out, 5S + safety audit. Training: Train operators on die coating, safe pouring, trimming, fettling. Coordination: With maintenance, quality, PPC, stores.

4. Preferred Requirements Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Metallurgy / Production3-7 years

experience in Aluminium GDC foundry Knowledge of trimming press, shot blasting, heat treatment (T6), Anodizing, leak testing, impregnation. Basic computer skills - Excel production report, ERP entry.
