Job summary

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in Chemical/Process Manufacturing or similar environment.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience implementing Lean/Six Sigma projects.
  • Engineering graduate with Lean/Six Sigma certification; Black Belt preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across the plant.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma projects focused on cost reduction and process optimization.
  • Conduct RCA for production losses and recurring issues.
  • Mentor cross-functional teams (CFTs) and lead Kaizen events.
  • Implement 5S, Visual Management and Standard Work; monitor sustainability of improvements.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Manager – Business Excellence to drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, productivity enhancement, and sustainability initiatives across the plant.

The role will focus on identifying improvement opportunities, eliminating operational losses, optimizing processes and resources, and building a strong continuous improvement culture through structured Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
Business Excellence & Operational Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, throughput, efficiency and operational performance.
  • Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities and process losses.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma projects focused on cost reduction and process optimization.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production losses and recurring operational issues.
  • Work closely with Production, R&D, Process Engineering, Quality, Maintenance and other functions to implement improvement initiatives.
  • Drive structured problem-solving and continuous improvement across plant operations.
Kaizen & Continuous Improvement
  • Plan and conduct regular KAIZEN events at plant level.
  • Facilitate and mentor Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs) in structured problem-solving.
  • Drive implementation of 5S, Visual Management and Standard Work.
  • Monitor improvement action plans and ensure timely implementation.
  • Conduct follow-ups and audits to ensure sustainability of implemented Kaizens.
  • Encourage employee participation and generate improvement ideas across the plant.
Sustainability & Resource Optimization
  • Drive initiatives for waste reduction, energy conservation and water optimization.
  • Identify opportunities for recycling, recovery and reuse of materials and by-products.
  • Monitor sustainability and environmental performance metrics.
  • Support compliance with environmental and corporate sustainability standards.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement resource-efficiency projects.
Training & Culture Building
  • Conduct training on Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Build awareness and capability among plant employees at various levels.
  • Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and operational discipline.
  • Act as a Change Agent to drive adoption of Business Excellence practices.
Candidate Profile
  • 10+ years of experience in Chemical / Process Manufacturing or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in implementing Lean / Six Sigma projects.
  • Engineering Graduate with Lean / Six Sigma certification; Black Belt preferred.
  • Strong understanding of chemical manufacturing processes and plant operations.
  • Proven experience in KAIZEN, Lean Manufacturing, process optimization and waste reduction.
  • Strong knowledge of Six Sigma tools, RCA and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Good understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM) and safe chemical plant operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and improvement projects.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, influencing and change-management skills.
  • Ability to convert improvement opportunities into measurable business results.
