Job Summary
The Senior Manager – Electrical & Instrumentation willbe responsible for providing corporate-level technical leadership for allelectrical and instrumentation systems across manufacturing facilities. Therole includes planning, standardization, reliability improvement, energyoptimization, statutory compliance, CAPEX execution, maintenance strategy,electrical safety, and technical support for all plants.
The incumbent shall ensure safe, reliable, and efficientoperation of HT/LT electrical systems while driving continuous improvementinitiatives, reducing energy costs, and implementing engineering best practicesacross all locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Corporate Electrical Operations
- Providetechnical leadership and engineering support to all manufacturing plants.
- Standardizeelectrical maintenance practices and engineering procedures across plants.
- Monitorthe performance, reliability, and availability of electrical assets.
- Developpreventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies.
2. HT/LT Power Systems
- Overseeoperation and maintenance of HT/LT electrical transmission anddistribution systems.
- Ensurereliability of transformers, switchgear, RMUs, VCBs, ACBs, MCCs, PCCs,APFC panels, bus ducts, and distribution networks.
- ReviewSingle Line Diagrams (SLDs) and recommend system improvements.
- Leadtroubleshooting of major electrical failures and root cause analysis.
3. Instrumentation & Automation
- Providetechnical guidance for PLC, SCADA, HMI, VFD, soft starters, fieldinstrumentation, process control systems, and industrial automation.
- Ensurecalibration and reliability of process instruments.
- Supportautomation upgrades and digitalization initiatives.
4. Utility Management
- Monitoroperation and optimization of utilities including:
- Electricaldistribution systems
- DGSets
- Boilers
- AirCompressors
- RefrigerationPlants
- WaterTreatment and ETP Utilities
- Processplants
- Improveequipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Monitorplant-wise power consumption and energy performance.
- Identifyopportunities for energy conservation and cost reduction.
- Optimizepower factor and demand management.
- Implementenergy-efficient technologies and renewable energy initiatives.
- Coordinateelectrical energy audits and implement recommendations.
6. Projects & CAPEX
- Plan,review, and execute electrical and instrumentation CAPEX projects.
- Preparetechnical specifications, BOQs, tender documents, and technicalevaluations.
- Reviewelectrical drawings and engineering documents.
- Ensureprojects are completed within scope, budget, quality, and schedule.
7. Electrical Safety
- Establishand implement electrical safety standards across all plants.
- Ensurecompliance with Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Permit-to-Work (PTW), Arc Flashprotection, earthing, lightning protection, and electrical isolationprocedures.
- Conductelectrical safety audits and risk assessments.
- Investigateelectrical incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
8. Statutory Compliance
- Ensurecompliance with applicable electrical regulations, including:
- IndianElectricity Act and Rules
- CentralElectricity Authority (CEA) Regulations
- FactoryAct requirements
- StateElectrical Inspectorate requirements
- FireSafety regulations
- Electricallicensing requirements
- Coordinatestatutory inspections and maintain compliance records.
- Evaluateand develop electrical contractors and service providers.
- NegotiateAnnual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs).
- Reviewvendor performance and ensure quality execution.
10. Budget & Cost Control
- Prepareand monitor annual electrical maintenance and utility budgets.
- Optimizespare parts inventory and lifecycle costs.
- Identifyand implement cost-saving initiatives.
11. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintaincorporate records for:
- Plantelectrical asset registers
- Masterequipment registers
- Electricaldrawings and SLDs
- Preventivemaintenance schedules
- Breakdownanalysis
- Compliancedocumentation
- Energyreports
- CAPEXprogress reports
- Presentperiodic MIS reports to senior management.
12. Team Development
- Mentorand guide plant electrical and instrumentation teams.
- Conducttechnical training and competency development programs.
- Promote a culture of safety, reliability, andcontinuous improvement
