Job summary

Patil Group is seeking a Maintenance Head for the Medchal Plant to lead the entire maintenance strategy and execution for plant equipment and facilities. The role focuses on reliability, safety, and performance of cranes, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics and control systems.

You will drive preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance, manage a multi-skilled team of technicians and engineers, and collaborate with production, quality and safety teams to optimize uptime and cut downtime across

Qualifications

• 15-20 years of progressive experience in maintenance management for BE and 20-22 yrs of experience for DME.
• BE / B.E. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in heavy manufacturing, steel fabrication, forging or automotive industries.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the plant maintenance strategy (PM, CBM, corrective) aligned with production goals.
• Ensure scheduled preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance are performed efficiently.
• Supervise maintenance of cranes, tensioning machines, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, motors, electrical systems, control panels and related equipment.
• Lead KPI tracking (MTBF, MTTR, uptime) and use data to improve maintenance decisions.
• Enforce HSE standards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Job Title: Maintenance Head

Job Purpose:

The Head of Maintenance will lead and manage the complete maintenance strategy and execution for all plant equipment and facilities. The role is critical for ensuring high reliability, safety, availability, and performance of key plant assets including EOT cranes, gantry cranes, tensioning machines, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, control panels, and related systems. You will establish and monitor preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance processes, drive continuous improvement, and build an empowered, technically strong maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities:

1 Strategic Maintenance Leadership

• Develop and own the plant maintenance strategy (preventive, predictive, and corrective) aligned with production and business goals.
• Establish lifecycle planning and asset management frameworks to optimise equipment performance and reliability.

2 Maintenance Execution & Oversight

• Ensure scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), condition-based monitoring (CBM), and breakdown maintenance are performed efficiently.
• Supervise maintenance of key equipment like EOT/gantry cranes, tensioning machines, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, motors, electrical systems, control panels, wiring and transformation units.
• Oversee commissioning and decommissioning activities for equipment as needed.

3 Performance Monitoring & Analytics

• Implement and review maintenance KPIs including MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), MTDTR and equipment uptime.
• Use data from predictive tools and monitoring systems to improve maintenance decisions.

4 Safety & Compliance

• Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environment (HSE) standards in all maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety audits, and risk assessments.

5 Team & People Management

• Lead and mentor a multi-skilled team including technicians, engineers, and contractors.
• Drive technical training programs, knowledge-sharing, and best practice dissemination across maintenance teams.
• Promote the use of right tools, fasteners, hydraulics, and safe work practices.

6 Budgeting & Cost Control

• Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-efficient solutions while minimizing downtime.
• Identify areas for cost optimization through better planning and efficient maintenance systems.

7 Collaboration & Support

• Coordinate closely with production, quality, engineering, and safety teams to support operational goals.
• Provide technical inputs for plant expansions, upgrades, and new equipment installations.

Qualifications:

B.Tech / B.E. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Or Diploma In Mechanical Engineering

Experience Required:
