Job summary

Keka Technologies Private Limited is seeking a Maintenance Manager to build and lead the maintenance function for a plant in Gujarat. The role covers mechanical and electro-mechanical maintenance with a focus on reliability and safety.

You will set up the maintenance system, establish workshops, and lead a multi-disciplinary team. Responsibilities include preventive/predictive/breakdown maintenance, procurement of spares, vendor contracts, and implementing TPM/5S/CMMS.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10–15 years of industrial maintenance experience with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Hands-on exposure to Wire & Cable / Conductors / Metal Processing / Continuous Casting industries.
• Strong knowledge of Electrical & Mechanical systems, HT/LT systems, Furnaces, and Process Utilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Factory Act, Electrical Safety Rules, Environmental & Fire Safety regulations; implement TPM, Kaizen, 5S and CMMS."

Job description

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for building and leading the Maintenance function from the ground up, covering Mechanical, and Electro-Mechanical maintenance. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and proven experience in handling plant and utility maintenance to ensure high reliability, safety, and efficiency of operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plant Setup & Establishment

• Develop and implement the complete maintenance system (policies, SOPs, schedules) from scratch.
• Supervise erection, installation, commissioning and handover of all plant & utility equipment.
• Set up maintenance workshop, tools & tackles, and spare parts inventory management system.

2. Equipment & Utilities Maintenance

• Plan and execute Preventive, Predictive, and Breakdown Maintenance for all plant machinery, including:
• Super Enamelled Copper & Aluminium Wire and Strip Lines.
• Continuous Transposed Conductor (CTC) Machines.
• Paper-Covered Conductor Lines.
• Bunching, Stranding & Cabling Machines.
• Copper Busbar, Foil & PV Ribbon Manufacturing Lines.
• Upcaster / Electric Furnaces for continuous copper rod casting.
• Maintain utilities & infrastructure: HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, compressors, DG sets, HVAC, water cooling systems, firefighting systems.
• Monitor equipment health to minimize downtime and ensure maximum Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Recruit, train, and lead a skilled multi-disciplinary maintenance team.
• Define roles, responsibilities, and performance standards for the team.
• Develop a proactive culture focused on safety, accountability, and reliability.

4. Spare Parts & Vendor Management

• Identify critical spares and develop optimum inventory control systems.
• Build strong vendor base for OEM spares, service contracts, and AMCs.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts with service providers for cost-effective maintenance support.

5. Safety, Statutory & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Factory Act, Electrical Safety Rules, Environmental & Fire Safety regulations.
• Implement strict LOTO (Lock-out / Tag-out), Permit-to-Work, and Safety Audit systems.
• Introduce modern maintenance practices – TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and Condition Monitoring.
• Lead energy conservation and cost-saving initiatives.
• Adopt digital tools / CMMS for maintenance tracking and reporting.
