Job summary

Paranjape Autocast in Maharashtra seeks a maintenance engineer to lead preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance for LPDC and GDC equipment, ensuring reliable casting operations.

You will plan daily/weekly maintenance, maintain records, monitor MTBF/MTTR and coordinate with OEMs and internal teams. The role requires shift readiness and a commitment to safety, TPM, 5S and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in LPDC and GDC maintenance operations.
• Knowledge of PM checklists and maintenance records.
• Familiar with MTBF/MTTR and OEE metrics.
• Able to work in shifts and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with safety procedures like LOTO and TPM.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for LPDC and GDC machines.
• Attend and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical breakdowns.
• Maintain PM checklists, maintenance history and equipment records.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance plans and track KPIs.
• Coordinate with OEMs/service providers for major breakdowns and support shutdowns.
• Identify critical spares and manage stock levels with stores.
• Drive TPM activities and lead continuous improvement projects.
• Guide technicians and coordinate with production and other teams.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for LPDC and GDC machines.
• Ensure timely inspection, servicing and replacement of critical machine components.
• Monitor machine health and identify potential failures through predictive maintenance practices.
• Maintain PM checklists, maintenance history and equipment records.

2. Breakdown Maintenance

• Attend and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical breakdowns.
• Conduct systematic root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Minimize machine downtime and ensure quick restoration of production.
• Analyse recurring breakdowns and prepare corrective/preventive action plans.

3. LPDC & GDC Equipment Maintenance

• Maintain LPDC/GDC machines and associated systems.
• Maintenance of hydraulic power packs, pumps, valves, cylinders, heaters, temperature-control systems, sensors and control panels.
• Maintenance of melting/holding furnaces, degassing units, cooling systems and other auxiliary equipment.
• Coordinate with machine OEMs/service providers for major breakdowns and technical support.

4. Maintenance Planning & Documentation

• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly maintenance plans.
• Maintain breakdown analysis, MTBF, MTTR and machine availability data.
• Monitor PM compliance and maintenance KPIs.
• Maintain equipment history cards and critical spare records.
• Support annual shutdown and major maintenance activities.

5. Spare Parts Management

• Identify critical and fast-moving maintenance spares.
• Maintain minimum/maximum stock levels for critical spares.
• Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for timely availability of spares.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction through local development and refurbishment.

6. Safety & Compliance

• Ensure maintenance activities are carried out as per safety procedures.
• Implement LOTO practices during maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with 5S, TPM, EHS and company maintenance standards.
• Participate in safety audits and corrective-action implementation.

7. TPM & Continuous Improvement

• Drive TPM activities within the maintenance area.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and OEE.
• Lead Kaizen and continuous improvement projects.
• Reduce breakdown frequency, downtime and maintenance cost.
• Support autonomous maintenance activities with Production teams.

8. Team & Cross-functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Process Engineering and Tool Maintenance teams.
• Guide technicians and maintenance operators in troubleshooting activities.
• Allocate maintenance activities and monitor execution.
• Provide technical support during new machine installation, commissioning and trials.
