Job summary

Sterlite Technologies (STL) in India seeks an Electrical Engineer to ensure uninterrupted operation of extrusion lines and allied equipment by independently handling electrical maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance during shifts.

You will work with VFDs, drives, PLCs, inkjet printers, sensors and control systems, coordinate with automation teams, and uphold safety norms, LOTO practices, and proper shift handovers.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• Prior industrial maintenance experience mandatory.
• Hands-on with VFDs, PLCs, sensors, and industrial printers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Independently handle electrical breakdowns on extrusion lines, co-extruders, take-up, pay-off, capstan, printers, and cooling systems.
• Inkjet Printer Support: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial inkjet printers used for cable marking, including print quality, ink/solvent systems, encoders and printer errors.
• PLC & Control Systems: Perform basic PLC fault diagnosis, check I/O status, field wiring, interlocks, and HMIs, coordinating with automation for program issues.
• Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Execute PM activities as scheduled, identify potential failures to avoid breakdowns, and maintain shift records.
• Safety & Compliance: Follow electrical safety procedures, LOTO practices, plant safety guidelines, and maintain panel/workspace housekeeping.
• Shift Operations: Work independently during shifts with minimal supervision and coordinate with production, mechanical maintenance and quality teams.

Job Profile: Electrical Engineer

Department: Cable Manufacturing (Extrusion Process) / Maintenance Electrical

• Purpose: Ensure uninterrupted operation of extrusion lines and allied equipment by independently handling electrical maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance during shift operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Independently handle electrical breakdowns on extrusion lines, co-extruders, take-up, pay-off, capstan, printers, and cooling systems. Troubleshoot faults in AC Drives & VFDs, servo drives & motors, control panels, MCCs, power distribution, sensors, encoders, heaters, thermocouples, and temperature controllers.1
• Inkjet Printer Support: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial inkjet printers used for cable marking (handling print quality, ink & solvent systems, encoders, and printer errors).1
• PLC & Control Systems: Perform basic PLC fault diagnosis, check I/O status, field wiring, interlocks, and HMI alarms, and coordinate with the automation team for program-related issues.1
• Preventive & Predictive Maintenance: Execute preventive maintenance (PM) activities as scheduled, identify potential failures to avoid breakdowns, and maintain records during shifts.1
• Safety & Compliance: Follow electrical safety procedures, LOTO practices, plant safety guidelines, and statutory electrical norms while maintaining panel and workspace housekeeping.1
• Shift Operations: Work independently during shifts with minimum supervision, coordinate effectively with production, mechanical maintenance, and quality teams, and ensure proper shift handovers.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong troubleshooting skills in extrusion plant electrical systems.1
• Hands-on experience with VFDs/drives, industrial inkjet printers, sensors, and instrumentation.1
• Good understanding of extrusion process interlocks, controls, and basic computer skills for maintenance logs and reports.

Qualification & Experience:

• B.E., or B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.1
• Prior industrial maintenance experience is mandatory.1
