Job description

Responsibilities:

Develop, enhance, and maintain applications running on the IBM i (AS/400) platform using COBOL (COBOL/400, ILE COBOL).

Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

Perform code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance tuning. Support daily batch processing, job monitoring, and operational troubleshooting.

Create and maintain technical documentation, including program specs, job flows, and interface diagrams.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, business analysts, infrastructure, and operations.

Work with DB2/400 for data modeling, queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization.

Ensure compliance with coding standards, change management processes, and audit requirements.

Required Qualifications

3 to 5+ years of experience developing on the IBM i / AS/400 platform.

Strong proficiency in: COBOL/400, ILE COBOL CL/CLLE DB2/400, SQL/400 Experience with PDM, SEU, RDi (or similar IDE), and IBM i system utilities. Solid understanding of batch job processing, scheduling tools, job logs, and output queues.

Strong analytical and debugging skills.

Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment. Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
