Qualifications

• Coordinate with Production Planning and Control to ensure optimum machine utilization.
• Ensure production targets are met as defined by production planning and control, take corrective action if necessary to ensure production targets.
• Maintain product quality as per defined actions, coordinate corrective actions with dependent departments.
• Plan manpower according to production plan.
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure optimum upkeep of machines and plan for preventive maintenance.
• Identify and implement cost saving initiatives regularly and sustain continuous improvements.
• Maintain input material inventory at optimum levels to prevent line stoppages.
• Maintain documentation of IATF-16949 / ISO-14001 / OHSAS 18001 and D.O.L.
• Initiate Kaizen projects to improve departmental functioning and efficiencies.
• Handle employee grievances with sensitivity and resolve per defined standards.
• Implement 5S and safety on the shop floor to promote a safe working environment.
• Prepare MIS reports as required.
• Develop subordinates in essential skills required for the job.
• Computer knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Initiate NPD activities aligned with new projects for cost optimization.

Job description

Key Responsibility

The incumbent is accountable for Achieving/ Ensuring production and quality in Machine Shop area as per production plan and achieved departmental costs. Also, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring adherence to SOPs and 5S practices as defined and initiating Kaizen projects to bring in process efficiencies and cost savings.

Preferred candidate profile

• Coordinate with Production Planning and Control in ensuring optimum utilization of machines
• Ensuring productions targets are met as defined by production planning and control, take corrective action if necessary to ensure production targets.
• Implement and execute quality of products is maintained as per defined action, in case of deviations, take corrective action in coordination down the line and with dependent departments.
• Planning of manpower is carried out as per production plan.
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure optimum upkeep of machines and plan for preventive maintenance.
• Cost saving initiatives are identified regularly and implemented and sustained on continuous bases.
• Input material inventory levels are maintained at optimum levels to eliminate line stoppages
• Maintained documentation of IATF-16949 / ISO-14001 / OHSAS 18001 and D.O.L
• Initiate kaizen projects as per need to improve departmental functioning and bring in efficiencies
• Employee grievance are handled with sensitivity and resolved as per defined standards
