Job summary

Chheda Specialities Foods is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee end-to-end domestic logistics and distribution across manufacturing units, depots, and e-commerce partners.

You will optimize vehicle utilization, monitor OTIF performance, and lead a team while coordinating closely with production, planning, warehousing, sales, and customer service to ensure seamless dispatch and delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution within Food Manufacturing, FMCG, or Consumer Products.

Role & responsibilities

Logistics & Distribution Management

• Manage end-to-end domestic logistics operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective

movement of finished goods.

• Plan and monitor dispatch schedules from manufacturing units to C&F agents,

depots, distributors, modern trade, institutional customers, and e-commerce

partners.

• Ensure optimum vehicle utilization and efficient route planning to maximize service

levels.

• Monitor order fulfilment and delivery performance to consistently achieve OTIF (On-

Time In-Full) targets.

Transportation & Vendor Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with transporters and logistics service

providers.

• Negotiate freight rates, transportation contracts, and service level agreements to

optimize logistics costs.

• Continuously evaluate transporter performance based on service quality, transit

timelines, cost, and compliance.

• Ensure timely availability of vehicles to support dispatch requirements.

Warehouse & Factory Coordination

• Coordinate closely with Production, Planning, Stores, Warehouse, Sales, and

Customer Service teams to ensure seamless dispatch planning.

• Ensure smooth loading, unloading, and movement of finished goods while

minimizing transit damages.

• Support inventory movement planning between factories, warehouses, and regional

distribution centres whenever required.

Cost Optimization & Process Improvement

• Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for freight optimization, route

rationalization, and operational efficiency.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics processes.

• Implement logistics KPIs and monitor performance through dashboards and MIS

reports.

• Leverage ERP systems and technology to improve logistics planning, visibility, and

reporting.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, GST requirements, e-way bills,

transporter documentation, and company policies.

• Maintain accurate logistics records, freight bills, proof of deliveries (PODs), and

transporter documentation.

• Ensure transportation practices comply with food safety, quality, and hygiene

standards.

Customer Service Excellence

• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service teams to ensure timely deliveries and

high customer satisfaction.

• Proactively resolve delivery delays, shortages, damages, and customer escalations.

• Monitor logistics performance against customer service commitments and

recommend corrective actions.

Team Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics team to achieve operational excellence.

• Establish clear performance objectives and drive accountability within the team.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and safety.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution within the

Food Manufacturing, FMCG, or Consumer Products industry.

• Proven experience managing large transportation networks and nationwide

distribution operations.

• Experience handling dispatches to distributors, C&F agents, modern trade, and retail

channels.

• Strong understanding of factory logistics and finished goods movement.
