Job summary

Dusad Agrofood is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee end-to-end logistics and transportation operations, ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective movement of finished goods to customers and distributors.

You will coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, Production and Accounts to plan dispatch, build a transporter network, negotiate freight rates, and monitor on-time delivery while maintaining compliance and quality standards for food/FMCG products.

Qualifications

  • Graduate in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, Business Management or related field; MBA/PGDM preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in logistics, transportation or supply chain, preferably in FMCG/Food Manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCG distribution, secondary transportation and dispatch operations.
  • Good negotiation and transporter/vendor management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/logistics systems.
  • Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time-sensitive dispatches.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage daily dispatch and transportation operations as per sales and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, Production and Accounts to ensure smooth and timely dispatch.
  • Plan vehicle requirements, loading schedules, routes and delivery priorities.
  • Develop and manage a reliable network of transporters and logistics service providers.
  • Negotiate freight rates and control transportation costs.
  • Monitor vehicle placement, loading, dispatch and delivery status.
  • Track shipments and ensure on-time delivery to customers/distributors.
  • Monitor vehicle utilization, route efficiency, freight cost and delivery performance.
  • Ensure proper documentation including invoices, e-way bills, LR/GR, delivery challans and other dispatch documents.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse to ensure correct product, quantity, batch, expiry and FEFO-based dispatch.
  • Handle transportation-related issues such as vehicle delays, breakdowns, shortages, damages and delivery disputes.
  • Maintain transporter performance records and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Verify freight bills against approved rates, routes and actual deliveries before submitting them for payment.
  • Identify opportunities for route optimization, load consolidation and freight cost reduction.
  • Monitor customer delivery complaints and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper handling and transportation of food/FMCG products to maintain product quality and hygiene.
  • Maintain daily, weekly and monthly logistics MIS and KPI reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with company logistics policies, safety requirements and applicable statutory requirements.

Job Purpose

Preferred Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in FMCG logistics and transportation, good knowledge of local and interstate routes, transporter networks, freight negotiation and delivery management. The candidate should be capable of controlling logistics costs while ensuring 100% accurate and timely dispatch and delivery.
