Job summary

Narsingh Ispat in India is seeking an experienced Logistics/Import Specialist to manage end-to-end import operations from China to Kolkata Port. You will coordinate FOB and CIF shipments, liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines and CHA, and ensure accurate documentation and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of import logistics, handling of international trade processes, and proficiency in Excel and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of import logistics and international trade procedures.
• Experience in handling FOB and CIF shipments.
• Understanding of customs clearance and import documentation.
• Proficiency with Excel, ERP systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end import logistics operations from China to Kolkata Port.
• Coordinate and monitor FOB and CIF shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and overseas agents for shipment planning and execution.
• Coordinate with CHA for smooth customs clearance of imports.
• Prepare and maintain import documentation including invoices, packing lists, B/Ls and certificates.
• Track shipment status and provide updates to internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate freight booking, vessel schedules and transportation arrangements.
• Ensure compliance with import regulations and company policies.
• Resolve delays and documentation discrepancies; maintain records of imports.

Role & responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end import logistics operations from China to Kolkata Port.
• Coordinate and monitor FOB and CIF shipments to ensure timely delivery.
• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and overseas agents for shipment planning and execution.
• Coordinate with Customs House Agents (CHA) for smooth customs clearance of imported consignments.
• Prepare, verify, and maintain import documentation including Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, and related documents.
• Track shipment status and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
• Coordinate freight booking, vessel schedules, and transportation arrangements.
• Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
• Resolve shipment delays, documentation discrepancies, and logistics-related issues.
• Maintain records of import transactions, freight costs, duties, and clearance activities.
• Support cost optimization initiatives related to freight and logistics operations.
