Job summary

Powerdrive Bearings is seeking a seasoned Logistics and Import/Export specialist to manage end-to-end activities, including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation. You will ensure timely shipments, coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, and carriers, and monitor shipments with MIS reporting.

The role requires strong EXIM policy knowledge, Bills of Entry, LC/Invoices, and leadership to train staff and implement SOPs. Preference for Export Import Management certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or Commerce.
• Certification in Export Import Management (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end import and export activities including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation.
• Ensure timely shipment of raw materials, machinery, and finished goods.
• Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transporters.
• Monitor shipment schedules and MIS reports (cost, lead time, performance).
• Lead and train logistics and documentation staff; define SOPs and workflows.

Role & responsibilities

1. 1. Oversee end-to-end import and export activities including documentation, customs clearance, and transportation.
2. 2. Ensure timely shipment of raw materials, machinery, and finished goods.
3. 3. Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, and transporters.
4. 4. Strong knowledge of EXIM policy, customs procedures, INCOTERMS, GST, and documentation
5. 5. Expertise in Bills of Entry, Shipping Bills, LC, BL, COO, Insurance, and Invoices
6. 6. Vendor negotiation and cost control skills
7. 7. Leadership and problem-solving ability
8. 8. ERP / SAP / Tally / logistics software knowledge
9. 9. Excellent communication and coordination skills
10. 10. Negotiate freight rates and contracts with logistics service providers.
11. 11. Control logistics costs and improve supply chain efficiency.
12. 12. Evaluate and appoint CHA, transporters, and freight forwarders.
13. 13. Coordinate with production, procurement, and sales teams for shipment planning.
14. 14. Monitor inventory movement related to imports and exports.
15. 15. Prepare shipment schedules and track consignments.
16. 16. Handle shipment delays, damages, shortages, and claims with insurance companies.
17. 17. Manage disputes with customs, shipping agencies, and vendors.
18. 18. Ensure business continuity during port congestion or regulatory changes.
19. 19. Prepare logistics MIS reports (cost, lead time, performance).
20. 20. Provide regular updates to management on shipment status and savings.
21. 21. Maintain digital and physical documentation records.
22. 22. Lead and train logistics and documentation staff.
23. 23. Define SOPs and workflow for import/export processes.

Preferred candidate profile
