  • Review, draft and vet agreements, contracts, MOUs, service agreements and notices.
  • Support internal and external audits and governance initiatives.
  • Provide legal guidance to department heads on business and operational matters.

Job Purpose

To ensure the factory's compliance with all applicable legal, statutory, regulatory, and corporate requirements while managing relationships with government authorities, regulatory agencies, local bodies, and external stakeholders. The role is responsible for legal risk management, license management, litigation support, contract review, and effective liaisoning to ensure uninterrupted plant operations.

Key Responsibilities
Legal Compliance Management
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and statutory requirements related to factory operations.
  • Monitor changes in legal and regulatory provisions and advise management on implications.
  • Develop and maintain compliance calendars and statutory registers.
  • Conduct periodic compliance audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Factory & Industrial Compliance
  • Ensure compliance under Factories Act, Labour Laws, Environmental Regulations, Industrial Safety requirements, and other applicable statutes.
  • Coordinate inspections conducted by government departments and regulatory bodies.
  • Facilitate renewal of licenses, registrations, approvals, and statutory certifications.
  • Maintain legal records, permits, notices, and statutory documentation.
Liaisoning & Government Relations
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with government departments, local authorities, industrial development agencies, and regulatory bodies.
  • Represent the organization during official meetings, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Liaise with departments such as Factory Inspectorate, Pollution Control Board, Labour Department, Fire Department, Electricity Board, Local Administration, and Industrial Authorities.
  • Obtain necessary approvals, NOCs, registrations, and permissions required for plant operations and expansion projects.
Contract & Legal Documentation
  • Review, draft, and vet agreements, contracts, MOUs, service agreements, vendor contracts, lease agreements, and legal notices.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and minimize legal risks.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel on contract reviews and legal matters.
Risk Management & Governance
  • Identify legal and compliance risks affecting factory operations.
  • Recommend preventive measures and corrective actions.
  • Support internal audits, external audits, and corporate governance initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, ethics, and compliance standards.
Stakeholder Management
  • Work closely with HR, Administration, EHS, Production, Finance, and Supply Chain departments.
  • Provide legal guidance to department heads on business and operational matters.
  • Support management in handling union-related and industrial relations matters.
Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
