  • Support project teams in contractual disputes, notices and compliance matters.
  • Verify contractor/subcontractor legal and statutory documentation.
  • Coordinate with Labour Department, Factory Inspectorate, PF, ESIC and other authorities.
  • Conduct periodic compliance audits at offices, sites and factories.
  • Develop and maintain a legal risk register and MIS for management.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
1. Legal Compliance Major Role
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Central and State laws, labour laws, industrial laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations and advise management on their impact.
  • Identify legal and regulatory risks and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Legal & Statutory Compliance Calendar.
  • Ensure timely renewal of licences, registrations, permissions and statutory approvals.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel and consultants wherever required.
2. Legal Notices & Litigation
  • Handle and coordinate responses to legal notices, labour notices, government notices and regulatory communications.
  • Maintain records of ongoing and closed legal cases, disputes and notices.
  • Coordinate with advocates and external legal consultants for litigation and legal proceedings.
  • Prepare case summaries, supporting documents and management reports.
  • Track court/authority proceedings and ensure timely follow-up and submission of documents.
  • Support management in resolving employee, contractor, vendor and commercial disputes.
3. Contract & Agreement Management
  • Review, draft and negotiate contracts, agreements, work orders, vendor agreements, subcontractor agreements, NDAs, MoUs and service agreements.
  • Review contractual terms from a legal and risk perspective.
  • Identify potentially risky clauses and advise management before execution.
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Maintain a central database of contracts and agreements.
4. Construction / EPC Legal Matters
  • Handle legal and compliance matters related to construction projects, EPC contracts, subcontractors and contractors.
  • Review project contracts, subcontract agreements, work orders and commercial/legal clauses.
  • Support project teams in contractual disputes, claims, notices and correspondence.
  • Coordinate with project teams regarding legal risks, contractual obligations and statutory requirements.
  • Verify contractor/subcontractor legal and statutory documentation.
  • Assist in matters related to labour disputes, contractor disputes and site-level legal issues.
5. Manufacturing / Factory Legal Compliance
  • Ensure legal compliance at manufacturing units and factories.
  • Monitor compliance under applicable factory, labour, employment, industrial and environmental regulations.
  • Coordinate with factory management regarding inspections, notices, licences and statutory requirements.
  • Handle legal documentation related to factory operations, employees, contractors and vendors.
  • Support management during inspections by government and regulatory authorities.
6. Labour & Employment Law
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment and labour legislation.
  • Handle employee-related legal matters, disciplinary issues and misconduct cases.
  • Draft and review show-cause notices, warning letters, charge sheets, termination letters and other disciplinary documentation.
  • Advise HR and management on employment-related legal issues.
  • Support resolution of labour disputes and employee grievances.
  • Ensure compliance relating to contract labour and manpower agencies.
7. Government & Regulatory Coordination
  • Coordinate with Labour Department, Factory Inspectorate, PF, ESIC and other government/regulatory authorities, as applicable.
  • Handle inspections, notices, queries and correspondence from authorities.
  • Ensure timely submission of required documents, replies and statutory returns.
  • Maintain proper records of inspections, notices and regulatory communications.
8. Compliance Audit & Risk Management
  • Conduct periodic legal and statutory compliance audits at corporate offices, project sites and manufacturing units.
  • Identify gaps and prepare corrective action plans.
  • Ensure timely closure of legal and compliance observations.
  • Prepare periodic Legal & Compliance MIS for management.
  • Develop and maintain a legal risk register.
Required Skills
  • Strong practical knowledge of Labour Laws, Employment Laws and Industrial Laws.
  • Strong understanding of construction/EPC contracts and manufacturing/factory compliance.
  • Experience in handling legal notices, disputes, litigation and government authorities.
  • Strong contract drafting and review skills.
  • Excellent legal documentation and drafting skills.
  • Good knowledge of statutory compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong negotiation, communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Word and Excel.
