Commercial Cards Product Manager
This role focuses on delivering scalable and differentiated corporate, purchase, and travel card solutions, enabling corporates to optimise payments, enhance expense visibility, and improve operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have strong domain expertise in commercial cards, deep knowledge of corporate payment ecosystems, and hands‑on experience delivering complex, technology‑driven solutions such as virtual cards and expense management integrations.
This role requires strong commercial acumen, stakeholder collaboration, and the ability to deliver results in a high‑pressure, execution‑driven environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7–10 years of experience in commercial cards product management within banking, payments, or card networks.
- Experience managing Purchase, Corporate, and Travel Cards.
- Hands‑on experience with virtual cards and expense management solutions.
- Strong understanding of GDS and travel payment ecosystems.
- Experience with ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Knowledge of Commercial Cards P&L and portfolio economics.
- Proven ability to deliver in high‑pressure environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
- AI and automation experience is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the commercial cards product strategy across issuing banks and ecosystem partners.
- Drive adoption and growth of Purchase Cards, Corporate Cards, and Travel Cards across enterprise and mid‑market segments.
- Identify new business opportunities, emerging use cases, and industry trends.
- Support issuers in building differentiated value propositions and go‑to‑market strategies.
Product Development & Delivery
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of commercial card product initiatives, including:
- Virtual card solutions
- Expense management system integrations
- Travel and procurement payment workflows
- Manage the product lifecycle from ideation to implementation and scaling.
- Collaborate with technology teams to ensure seamless integrations.
- Ensure timely and high‑quality delivery in fast‑paced environments.
Corporate Payments Ecosystem Integration
- Develop expertise in corporate workflows such as procurement, travel, and expense management.
- Drive integrations with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.).Support travel‑related payment flows, including Global Distribution Systems (GDS).
- Enable automation in reconciliation, reporting, and payment processes.
Commercial Ownership & P&L Management
- Own and optimise Commercial Cards P&L (revenue growth, cost, and profitability).
- Drive card usage, transaction volume, and corporate engagement.
- Monitor key performance metrics such as spend growth, card issuance, activation, and profitability.
Stakeholder & Partner Management
- Collaborate with issuing banks, fintechs, ERP providers, and corporate clients.
- Work closely with internal teams including technology, risk, operations, and sales.
- Manage external vendors and solution providers.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for commercial card capabilities.
Market Development & Innovation
- Stay updated on market trends in commercial payments and B2B automation.
- Drive innovation in areas such as:
- Tokenisation‑based payments
- Embedded finance
- Automated expense and travel workflows
- Benchmark competitor offerings and recommend enhancements.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with card networks or payment schemes.
- Knowledge of B2B payment automation and supplier payments.
- Familiarity with reconciliation, reporting, and settlement workflows.
