Job summary

Airtel is seeking a senior telecom infrastructure professional to lead deployment of fiber POPs along BBNL, IP1, and IRU routes in Gurugram. You will coordinate cross-functional teams and manage end-to-end rollout.

The role focuses on project governance, regulatory coordination, backhaul planning, and dashboard reporting to keep leadership informed and ensure timely, compliant delivery.

Qualifications

Primary Responsibilities

Lead the deployment and integration of new fiber POPs along BBNL, IP1, IRU network routes.

Drive strategic projects related to BBNL, enhance existing IRU/IP1 network
Ensuring seamless HOTO of BBNL and integration as per Airtel's existing network
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely survey and deployment
Coordination with regulatory authorities, BBNL/BSNL counterparts, and internal teams for seamless RoW and site Integration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead deployment and integration of new Fiber POPs across BBNL, IP1, and IRU network routes.
• Drive strategic fiber infrastructure projects to expand network coverage and enhance transport network capabilities.
• Manage end-to-end execution of optical fiber rollout projects including planning, design validation, deployment, testing, and commissioning.
• Oversee enhancement and optimization of existing IRU/IP1 network infrastructure to improve capacity, resilience, and network performance.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, telecom partners, infrastructure providers, and regulatory bodies for timely project execution.
• Conduct backhaul planning, fiber route assessment, POP readiness evaluation, and capacity dimensioning to support business growth.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, risks, dependencies, and ensure adherence to deployment milestones.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and prepare periodic updates/reports for government and regulatory authorities.
• Track project progress and publish weekly, monthly, and quarterly dashboards highlighting deployment status, risks, achievements, and action plans.
• Drive network integration activities, vendor management, and field coordination to ensure seamless implementation.
• Support network modernization initiatives and identify opportunities for infrastructure optimization and operational efficiency.
• Maintain project documentation, deployment records, route inventories, and governance reports.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 8-12 years of experience in Telecom Infrastructure, Fiber Network Deployment, Backhaul Planning, or Transport Network Operations.
• Strong understanding of Optical Fiber Networks, BBNL, IP1 infrastructure, IRU agreements, POP deployment, and transport network architecture.
• Experience in managing large-scale fiber rollout and network integration projects.
• Knowledge of telecom regulatory requirements and government infrastructure programs.
• Strong stakeholder management, project management, and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in project tracking, reporting, dashboard preparation, and data analysis.
