Job summary

IEPC seeks an experienced Design & Engineering professional to lead multidisciplinary activities on EPC/EPCM projects. You will ensure timely, technically sound and cost-effective deliverables while coordinating with project, procurement, construction and client teams.

The role requires 7–12 years in design & engineering within EPC environments, and proficiency with engineering software. You will mentor engineers and participate in design reviews and client discussions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical or related field.
• Master's degree or professional certification adds advantage.
• 7–12 years of Design & Engineering experience in EPC/EPCM or engineering consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design and engineering activities across projects.
• Review requirements, drawings, calculations to ensure codes and client needs.
• Coordinate Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation teams.
• Plan deliverables, set priorities and meet project schedules.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Support procurement, construction, erection, and commissioning teams.
• Identify value-engineering opportunities to improve cost and constructability.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; contribute to capability development.
• Maintain documentation and revision control throughout the lifecycle.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Design & Engineering professional to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities for EPC/EPMC projects. The role will be responsible for ensuring timely, technically sound and cost-effective engineering deliverables while coordinating closely with project, procurement, construction and client teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design and engineering activities across assigned projects.
• Review project requirements, specifications, drawings, calculations and engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and client requirements.
• Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical and Instrumentation engineering teams as applicable.
• Plan engineering deliverables, establish priorities and ensure timely completion in line with project schedules.
• Review and approve technical documents, drawings, design calculations, specifications and engineering packages.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors and internal stakeholders on technical requirements and design clarifications.
• Support preparation and evaluation of technical specifications, BOQs, equipment datasheets and technical proposals.
• Identify design optimisation and value-engineering opportunities to improve project cost, quality and constructability.
• Provide technical support to procurement, construction, erection and commissioning teams during project execution.
• Resolve engineering issues and design-related challenges in coordination with project stakeholders.Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable Indian and international codes, standards, quality and safety requirements.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers and contribute to capability development within the engineering team.
• Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, client discussions and project review meetings.
• Maintain proper documentation, engineering records and revision control throughout the project lifecycle.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Civil/Electrical/Chemical or relevant discipline).
• Master's degree or relevant professional certification will be an added advantage.
• 7–12 years of experience in Design & Engineering, preferably with an EPC/EPCM/engineering consultancy/project organisation.
• Experience in industrial projects such as Power, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Steel, Cement, Mining, Infrastructure or Water projects will be preferred.
• Strong knowledge of engineering design practices, technical specifications, drawings, calculations and applicable codes/standards.
• Experience in managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinating with project execution functions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good communication, stakeholder-management and project coordination skills.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering/design software and MS Office applications.
