Job summary

crossbowlabs in Bengaluru is seeking a Level 1 IT support technician to assist with desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals. You will install and configure Windows and MacOS, offer basic Linux support, and help with productivity apps and collaboration tools.

The role includes troubleshooting hardware, software, network, VPN, and email issues; assisting with onboarding/offboarding, asset inventory, and device provisioning. You will coordinate with IT teams and vendors as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in IT/CS or related field.
• Familiarity with office productivity suites and email platforms.
• Basic networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi).
• VPN connectivity basics and remote access troubleshooting.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1 IT support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and MacOS; basic Linux support.
• Install and maintain productivity and collaboration tools.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, VPN, and email issues.
• Assist users with account access, passwords, and user provisioning.
• Onboard/offboard users and manage device provisioning.
• Maintain IT asset inventory and update asset management records.
• Assist endpoint management: system updates and patch management.
• Perform antivirus monitoring and basic security checks on endpoints.
• Provide basic troubleshooting for LAN, Wi‑Fi, and VPN connectivity.
• Maintain IT documentation and support records through ticketing systems.
• Coordinate with IT teams or vendors for escalation.
• Assist with IT procurement and license tracking.

Job description

Provide Level 1 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems including Windows and Mac and basic support for Linux systems. Install and maintain productivity applications and collaboration tools. Troubleshoot hardware, software, network connectivity, VPN, and email-related issues. Assist users with account access, password resets, and user account support. Support employee onboarding and offboarding including device setup and access provisioning. Maintain IT asset inventory and update asset management records. Assist in endpoint management activities such as system updates, patch management, and device monitoring. Perform antivirus monitoring and basic security checks on endpoints. Provide basic troubleshooting for LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity issues. Maintain IT documentation and update support records through ticketing or issue tracking systems. Coordinate with internal IT teams or external vendors for issue escalation when required. Assist with vendor coordination for IT procurement including hardware purchases and software license tracking.

Requirements Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Familiarity with office productivity suites, email platforms, and collaboration tools.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts such as IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
• Basic understanding of VPN connectivity and remote access troubleshooting.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple support requests and prioritize tasks.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

• Exposure to user account management and directory services.
• Familiarity with endpoint management platforms or device management tools.
• Understanding of basic cybersecurity practices and IT policies.
• Experience with IT asset management and documentation systems.
• Internship or project experience in IT support is an added advantage.
