Job summary

Flex is looking for a Junior Engineer - Quality in Pune to join our manufacturing team. You will work with Design and Manufacturing Engineers to define process parameters and ensure supplier processes meet product and process requirements.

You will support supplier approvals, new product launches, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement using Lean and PFMEA techniques. Excellent communication is essential.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in ECE/EEE/IC/Mechanical/Mechatronics with 0–2 years of APQP/PPAP/FMEA in manufacturing.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Knowledge of APQP/PPAP/FMEA.
• Knowledge of TS16949.
• Knowledge of measurement techniques.
• Open for flexible shifts.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define process parameters with Engineering to ensure supplier capability meets requirements.
• Support supplier approval by assessing capabilities and HSE risks.
• Assist in new product launches ensuring supplier quality meets standards.
• Follow up with suppliers for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Review supplier processes and drive improvements and cost recovery.
• Promote Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke and PFMEA techniques.
• Document inspection results and support PPAP/Quality records as required.
• Report KPIs to prevent non-conformities in product/process.
• Coordinate First Article Inspection activities.
• Support internal/external audit readiness.

What a typical day looks like:

• Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements
• Support in supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks
• Support new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards
• Follow up with suppliers for root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues
• Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities
• Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
• Provide concise, complete and accurate documentation of inspection results relative to area of responsibility. In appropriate functional areas, this refers to supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications or Control Plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approval or product warrant submission
• Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process or system
• Preparation & Validation of First Article Inspection
• Manage and coordinate supplier Material/Non Material cost recovery for Supplier Quality issues
• Support in Internal /External Audit readiness

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• B.E / B.Tech in ECE / EEE / IC / Mechanical / Mechatronics with (0-2) years of experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) in Manufacturing set up, Preferably in EMS Industry.
• Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
• Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
• Knowledge of TS16949
• Knowledge of measurement techniques
• Open for flexible shifts
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
