Job summary

Flex is seeking a Product Engineer - ECM in Chennai to lead a cross-functional team of 10–15 engineers and manage ECO/MCO/ECN processes across manufacturing sites.

You will collaborate with IT for PLM tools, establish robust reporting, and mentor the team to deliver changes on time while maintaining quality and compliance. Night shift required; strong communication is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Electronics/Electrical engineering is required.
• Experience in ECO/MCO/ECN and engineering change processes is required.
• Experience with PLM/ERP BAAN and setting up product numbers/BOM structures is expected.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with IT for Design & Engineering tools and ensure timely reporting.
• Perform quarterly/annual appraisals and monitor process metrics.

Product Engineer - Engineering Change Order Management (ECM) located in Chennai location.

Reports to the Manager, and the role involves,

What a typical day looks like:

• Handle a team of 10 – 15 Engineers.
• Efficiently manage ECO / PDM process for manufacturing sites across the globe
• Work closely with IT for Design & Engineering tools
• Conduct flawless transition of processes from sites
• Perform Quarterly / Annual performance appraisals for the team members.
• Ensure adherence to targets set for all Process Metrics
• Ensure timely generation and circulation of reports / dashboards.
• Mentor the team and guide them towards effective discharge of functions.
• Handle escalations if any, and elevate matters requiring the senior management’s attention on a timely basis.
• Train new and existing team members on relevant tools or topics.
• Perform root cause analysis to expedite the resolution of service issues.
• Maintain excellent relationship with internal customers at site and with key stakeholders in the organization
• Create and make professional presentations to Management and customers
• Identify, recommend, and implement operational efficiencies to drive continuous improvement
• Lead Lean Six Sigma projects and have your team do the same
• Prepare Customized reports for analyzing and incorporating improvements in processes

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Any Bachelor or Master degree in Electronics / Electrical or related field.
• Worked in the Engineering team in a HIGHLY VARIABLE Demand environment managing a team
• Experience in Engineering Change Order Management (ECO/MCO/ECN)
• Experience in creating setup like product Number, BOM Structure in PLM (Product Life Cycle Management) and RP for new Products
• Experience in creating part numbers for BOM in agile & Baan
• Experience in creating AVL in agile & Baan system
• Experience in downloading customer documents like product specifications and releasing same in CDC
• Work as a Change Analysts during NPI for new changes
• Release Part list to production for new models & after implementation of ECO's
• Knowledge of ERP (Preferably BAAN)
• Knowledge of MS office and MS outlook
• Excellent written and oral communication skills MANDATORY.
• Night Shift (7pm – 4am)
