Job summary

Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited in Chennai is seeking a Junior Engineer for Maintenance - Controls to support complex electrical control systems in a high-precision automotive environment.

The ideal candidate has 6–10 years of post-diploma experience with PLC technologies such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, LabVIEW, and associated CNC troubleshooting skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering (DEEE/DECE) is required.
• 6–10 years of verified service after Diploma.
• Experience with electrical control systems and maintenance in automotive or similar industry.

Responsibilities

• Attend emergency breakdowns and carry out preventive, corrective & predictive maintenance.
• Update maintenance activities in the CMMS and restore machine condition after maintenance.
• Participate in machine retrofitting activities and supplier coordination for spares.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

• Understanding Machine electrical drawings.
• Hands on experience in Allen Bradley (Control logic, Compact logic, and SLC & Micro Logix
• series), Siemens (S7-300, S7-1200 & STEP5 series) and Mitsubishi (FX series) PLCs.
• PLC - Programming knowledge in Siemens Simatic manager, Rockwell RS Logix 5000 & 500,
• Mitsubishi GX Developer, Proface GP-Pro and NI LabVIEW soft wares.
• Programming skill in LabVIEW.
• Trouble shooting of CNC machines with Siemens (840D/810D/828D) / Fanuc ( Oi TF series)
• controllers.
• Hands on experience in Desoutter / Bosch Rexroth Electric nut runners, EOL Performance
• testers, Label printers, Weld controllers and PID controllers etc.
• In depth knowledge in VFD
• Programming and trouble shooting skills in servo drives of different makes
• Knowledge in Computer hardware and Hard disk cloning software.
• Maintenance knowledge on Presses, Index tables, Conveyors, Ovens etc.
• Trouble shooting of PCBs, AC/DC Drives and SMPS.
• Exposure in using instruments like Oscilloscope, Pulse Generators, Source meters for diagnosing
• problems with Servo motors, Encoders and Weld controllers etc.
• Good basic Engineering knowledge / Analytical skills.
• Interpersonal skills / Team player
• Exposure in 5S practices and Why-Why analysis for root cause finding
• Awareness in industrial safety practices.
  

Typical Duties:

• Attend Emergency breakdowns and carryout preventive, Corrective & predictive maintenance
• activities on time without any Assistants.
• Updating daily activities in maintenance management system.Restoration of machine original condition after maintenance activities.
• Participating machine retrofitting activities.
• Communicating with Suppliers for sourcing of OEM/Equivalent machine spares
• Handling of internal customers like manufacturing, quality and safety departments for machine related issues
• Analysis Breakdown and identify the root cause and plan for kaizens
• Identifying Improvement points to improve MTBF & MTTR of machines
• Designing and implementation of poke-yokes.
• Initiating spare cost saving and energy saving activities
