Job summary

Flex is seeking a Junior Engineer, Machine Programming to join our Chennai team. You will support SMT programming, optimize pick-and-place processes, and contribute to quality checks across multiple boards.

The role requires a BE in ECE/EEE/E&I with 0–2 years of manufacturing experience, good MS Office skills, and the ability to work night shifts. We value teamwork, continuous improvement, and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• BE graduate with 0-2 years in manufacturing, preferably EMS.
• Hands-on SMT machine programming experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of NPI and BOM management is beneficial.
• Strong MS Office skills: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Good English communication and analytical thinking.
• Willingness to work night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Understand SMT assembly process and SMT machine programming tools.
• Perform Pick and Place programming for machines like Siplace, Fuji.
• Do structural test programming for AOI, SPI, AXI, and Flying probe tests.
• Initiate improvements for SMT processes per customer specs and procedures.
• Provide testing, inspection activities, and reports.
• Prepare KPI reports and validate data.
• Prepare SOPs and release documents in the system.
• Perform UAT for machine programming software to meet ISO/IATF.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we are looking to add a Junior Enginee** r, Machine Programming** located in Chennai.

What a typical day looks like:

• Knowledge of entire Surface Mount Technology (SMT) assembly process, surface mount electronic packages, and SMT Machines programming tools and software’s
• Perform Pick and place machine programming with high proficiency and machine optimization for machines such as Siplace, Fuji
• Perform Structural test programming for various platforms in areas such as Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI), Solder paste Inspection (SPI), Automatic x-ray Inspection (AXI) and Flying probe test (FPT), machines.
• Initiate & implement actions for continuous monitoring and improvement of SMT process in accordance with customer requirements, technical specifications of equipment and internal procedures.
• Provide testing and inspection activities and reports.
• Assist in providing the KPI report preparation and validation of the data.
• Assist in preparation of process related controlled documents such as SOP and release in the system.
• Perform user acceptance test of various machine programming software to meet the compliance requirements (ISO/IATF)

The experience we are looking to add to our team:

• B.E(ECE/EEE/E&I) graduate with (0-2) years of experience in Manufacturing set up, preferably in EMS industry.
• Hands on experience in SMT machine programming is added advantage.
• Knowledge in domains such as NPI (New Product Introduction), BOM (Bill of Materials) Management and should have good Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Power Point & Word skills.
• Command over oral and written skills in English
• Good analytical skills, logical thinking, Coaching & mentoring skills.
• Flexible working in night shifts
