Job summary

TAKYEEF Electromechanical in Mohali/Kharar area is seeking a Junior Electronics Hardware Engineer to develop, test and approve Fire & Smoke Detection Systems (FSDS) for railway applications. You will work on hardware, sensors, power supplies and related components while supporting RDSO submissions.

The role emphasizes hands-on hardware development, testing and troubleshooting with exposure to embedded systems, PCB testing and documentation for railway approvals.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics or related discipline.
• 3–4 years hands-on experience in electronics hardware engineering.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics, sensors, PCB circuits and power supplies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and troubleshoot electronic circuits, PCBs, sensors, power supplies and related hardware.
• Support integration of smoke detectors, control panels, communication modules and associated electronic components.
• Conduct hardware testing, validation, fault analysis and product improvement activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test reports, drawings, BOMs and specifications.
• Support preparation of documents required for RDSO/Indian Railways product approvals, inspections and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with testing laboratories, suppliers, production teams and railway/RDSO representatives where required.
• Study applicable RDSO specifications and translate technical requirements into product design and testing requirements.
• Support investigation and resolution of hardware issues reported from field installations.

We are looking for a Junior Electronics Hardware Engineer to join our team in the Kharar–Mohali area and work on the development, testing and approval of electronic systems used in the railway industry.

The role will primarily involve working on Fire & Smoke Detection Systems (FSDS), including hardware development, testing, troubleshooting, product improvement and supporting the documentation required for RDSO approvals.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on the R&D and hardware development of Fire & Smoke Detection Systems (FSDS) for railway applications.
  • Develop, test and troubleshoot electronic circuits, PCBs, sensors, power supplies and related hardware.
  • Support integration of smoke detectors, control panels, communication modules and associated electronic components.
  • Conduct hardware testing, validation, fault analysis and product improvement activities.
  • Assist in prototype development, testing and conversion of prototypes into production-ready systems.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, test reports, drawings, BOMs and specifications.
  • Support preparation of documents required for RDSO / Indian Railways product approvals, inspections and technical submissions.
  • Coordinate with testing laboratories, suppliers, production teams and railway/RDSO representatives where required.
  • Study applicable RDSO specifications and translate technical requirements into product design and testing requirements.

Candidate Profile

Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.

• Ideally 3–4 years of hands‑on experience in electronics hardware engineering.
• STRONG understanding of analog and digital electronics, sensors, PCB circuits, power supplies and electronic troubleshooting.
• Experience with PCB testing, soldering, multimeters, oscilloscopes and other laboratory equipment.
• Ability to read circuit diagrams, datasheets and technical specifications.
• Exposure to embedded systems, microcontrollers, communication protocols or industrial electronics would be an advantage.
• Experience with fire alarm systems, smoke detection systems, railway electronics or safety‑critical systems would be highly preferred.
• Previous exposure to RDSO documentation, railway approvals, product testing or government technical approvals would be a strong advantage.

We are looking for someone who is hands‑on and technically curious rather than someone restricted only to documentation or desk‑based engineering.

The candidate should be comfortable opening a system, understanding how the electronics work, identifying failures, testing solutions and simultaneously documenting the product properly for railway approval requirements.
