Job Responsibilities
- Engineering Standards: Define and enforce high-standard coding guidelines (Clean Code, SOLID principles) to ensure the codebase remains maintainable and bug-free.
- Rigorous Peer Reviews: Lead deep-dive code reviews, focusing on logic accuracy, security vulnerabilities, and performance bottlenecks.
- Technical Ownership: Act as the primary decision-maker for implementation details, ensuring alignment with the overall Application Architect's vision.
- Low-Latency Engineering: Optimize critical paths in the RMS/Clearing engines to achieve sub-millisecond execution speeds.
- System Stability: Ensure the platform meets 99.99% availability by designing for graceful degradation and efficient resource management (memory/CPU).
- Concurrency Management: Solve complex multi-threading and synchronization challenges inherent in high-volume financial transaction processing.
- Pattern Implementation: Utilize proven design patterns (e.g., Command/Saga for distributed transactions, Observer for real-time risk) to build robust clearing workflows.
- Modern SDLC: Champion Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Automated Testing to ensure high functional coverage and prevent regressions.
- API Excellence: Design resilient, throttled, and versioned APIs for internal and external (COTS) integrations.
- Talent Development: Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical curiosity.
- Knowledge Transfer: Reduce "key-person risk" by conducting regular brown-bag sessions and maintaining high-quality technical documentation.
- Vendor De-risking: Empower the internal team to take over core modules currently managed by partners.
- Deployment Governance: Oversee the transition of code from Dev to Production (DC/DR), ensuring all releases are audit-ready and fully documented.
- Observability: Integrate comprehensive logging, tracing, and metrics (Prometheus/Grafana) to ensure systems are observable and easy to debug in live environments.
- CI/CD & Automation: Implement and support unit tests, integration tests, and continuous integration pipelines for seamless deployments.
- Security Audits: Conduct security audits and system modifications to ensure applications are secure and compliant before launch.
- Operational Excellence: Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth execution of strategic initiatives and adherence to project timelines.
- Disaster Recovery: Ensure that code changes do not break DR synchronization and failover capabilities.
- IS: Participate in ongoing security scans and system modifications to ensure applications are secure and compliant on an ongoing basis.
- Remediate vulnerabilities proactively before escalation and during development following OWASP best practices.
