Raveone Consultants is seeking a senior Head of Production Planning & Control (PPC) for its Hyderabad site. This role oversees end-to-end production planning, MRP, and delivery management across forging and finishing operations, balancing customer commitments with optimal capacity utilization and aerospace/defence quality standards.
You will lead master scheduling, capacity planning, and ERP optimization, ensuring tight inventory control and cross-functional alignment to reduce WIP and improve
Designation: Head – Production Planning & Control (PPC)
Department: Production Planning & Control
Location: Hyderabad, Telangana
Position: Full-time | Senior Management
Reporting to: Plant Head – Site 1
Experience: 12+ years
Industry Preference: Forging / Aerospace & Defence / Heavy Engineering / Precision Manufacturing / Metallurgical Manufacturing
The Head – PPC will be responsible for orchestrating end-to-end production planning, shop-floor scheduling, material requirement planning (MRP), and delivery management across forging, heat treatment, machining, and testing operations.
The role requires a high-accountability supply chain and planning professional who can balance customer delivery commitments with optimal capacity utilization, minimal work-in-progress (WIP) inventory, and strict adherence to aerospace and defence quality standards.
Master Production Scheduling (MPS): Develop and execute site-level master schedules aligned with customer demand, plant capacity, and delivery timelines across all manufacturing stages (forging, heat treatment, machining, and inspection).
Capacity & Resource Planning: Analyze machine, labor, and tooling availability to resolve bottlenecks, optimize furnace loads, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Material Requirement Planning (MRP): Drive raw material (billets/ingots), consumable, and sub-contracting requirements in coordination with Procurement and Stores to ensure zero production downtime.
Shop-Floor Control & Dispatch: Track daily progress against planned targets, manage order prioritization, and work closely with Shop Floor Managers to expedite high-priority orders.
Sub-contracting & Outsource Management: Oversee external processing (special heat treatments, external machining, or special processes), ensuring seamless material movement and on-time turnaround.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate daily with Quality, Production, Engineering, and Sales/Commercial teams to track order fulfillment, mitigate delays, and update delivery schedules.
ERP & Systems Optimization: Own the PPC module in ERP, ensuring accurate bill of materials (BOM), routing details, inventory tracking, and real-time order status updates.
Inventory Control: Monitor raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels to achieve optimal stock turns while preventing material shortages.
B.E. /B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Production Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering.
Preferred Certifications: APICS (CPIM/CSCP), Project Management (PMP), or certifications in Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma.
Minimum 12 years of core production planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing setup, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
Strong domain experience in forging, heavy engineering, precision machining, or metallurgical manufacturing (Aerospace & Defence background preferred).
In-depth understanding of process routes involving hot/cold forging, thermal processing/heat treatment, non-destructive testing (NDT), dimensional inspection, and CNC machining.
Hands-on expertise in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent industrial ERPs) and advanced MS Excel/analytics tools.
Demonstrated ability to manage multi-stage manufacturing routings with strict material traceability (heat-code control) and AS9100 / ISO quality constraints.
Proven track record of improving On-Time Delivery (OTD), reducing cycle times, and optimizing WIP inventory.
Strong leadership skills to drive accountability across shop-floor execution, logistics, and planning teams.
We are looking for a results-driven, hands-on PPC leader rather than a pure desk scheduler or spreadsheet compiler.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable walking the shop floor, identifying operational bottlenecks in real time, re-sequencing schedules dynamically when disruptions occur, and maintaining clear, transparent communication with plant management and customer-facing teams. You should thrive in an environment that is actively professionalizing its systems, structures, and operational processes.
