Job summary

Uno Minda Group is seeking a seasoned Manager to lead Production Planning & Scheduling at the Farrukhnagar site. The role focuses on developing monthly, weekly, and daily plans, ensuring efficient resource utilization, and coordinating with Procurement, Quality, and Logistics to meet delivery commitments.

You will monitor progress, drive OTIF performance, and implement Lean, Kaizen, and ERP best practices to optimize efficiency and reduce lead times.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Production, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
• MBA/PGDM in Operations/Supply Chain preferred.
• 14-18 years of experience in PPC, Production Planning, or Supply Chain Management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on demand.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and material resources.
• Monitor production progress and take corrective actions to hit targets.

Job Purpose

To develop, monitor, and control production plans to ensure timely delivery of customer requirements while optimizing resources, inventory, capacity utilization, and production efficiency. The role is responsible for coordinating with Production, Procurement, Stores, Quality, Logistics, and Sales teams to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Prepare monthly, weekly, and daily production plans based on customer demand and business requirements.
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and material resources.
• Monitor production progress and take corrective actions to achieve production targets.
• Coordinate with department heads to align production schedules with business objectives.

Material Planning & Inventory Control

• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, consumables, and components.
• Coordinate with Procurement for material planning and expediting critical materials.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain optimum stock levels.
• Minimize inventory carrying costs while preventing production shortages.

Customer Demand & Delivery Management

• Review customer forecasts and sales requirements.
• Ensure on-time fulfillment of customer orders and dispatch plans.
• Monitor adherence to delivery schedules and improve OTIF (On Time In Full) performance.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Liaise with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Stores, SCM, and Logistics teams for smooth execution.
• Lead daily production review meetings and plan adherence discussions.
• Escalate critical issues affecting production or customer deliveries to Plant Head.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Track key PPC KPIs and generate MIS reports.
• Analyze production variances and recommend improvement actions.
• Prepare capacity utilization and productivity reports for management review.

Process Improvement

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in planning and scheduling processes.
• Improve production efficiency and reduce lead time.
• Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and ERP best practices.

Team Management

• Lead and develop PPC team members.
• Define KRAs, conduct performance reviews, and identify training needs.
• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
