Job summary

G M Engineering Services Ltd is seeking a Production Planning & Control professional in Rajkot, India, to formulate daily, weekly and monthly production plans aligned with customer orders and forecasts.

You will coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, quality, and sales to ensure on-time delivery, optimize inventory, and maintain ERP records while driving efficiency and capacity planning initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of PPC in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP, or similar).
• Understanding production scheduling, MRP, capacity planning, and BOM.
• Knowledge of machining, assembly, testing, and valve manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders and sales forecasts.
• Release and monitor production work orders in coordination with manufacturing departments.
• Plan and schedule machining, assembly, testing, painting, and dispatch activities.
• Coordinate with the Purchase and Stores departments to ensure timely availability of raw materials, bought-out items, and consumables.
• Monitor production progress and identify bottlenecks affecting delivery schedules.
• Follow up with production teams to ensure adherence to the production plan.
• Maintain production planning records and update ERP systems with production status.
• Coordinate with the Quality department to ensure timely inspection and clearance of finished products.
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and optimise inventory levels.
• Prepare production reports, capacity utilisation reports, and order status reports for management review.
• Coordinate with the Sales and Dispatch departments to ensure on‑time delivery to customers.
• Assist in capacity planning, resource allocation, and production optimisation initiatives.
• Analyse production variances and recommend corrective actions to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
