• Ensure timely closure of production orders in SAP and drive On-Time Delivery.

JOB DESCRIPTION PRODUCTION PLANNING & CONTROL (PPC) Location: Mysuru

Industry: Aerospace Manufacturing (Hoses, Tubes, Ducts, Tie-Rods, Sheet Metal Assemblies)

Experience: 10+ years

Reporting to: Head Manufacturing / Operations / Plant Head

The objective of the PPC role is to ensure optimal production planning, material availability, and

capacity utilisation to meet customer delivery schedules in a high-precision aerospace and defence

manufacturing environment, while ensuring on-time release of work orders, smooth shopfloor

execution, order closures, and adherence to quality and compliance requirements.

The role acts as the central nerve-centre between Sales/Program, Engineering, Stores, Production,

Quality, and Supply Chain, enabling predictable, reliable, and efficient manufacturing outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

A. Production & Capacity Planning

• Develop Master Production Schedules (MPS) aligned with customer demand, contract milestones, and internal capacities.
• Perform capacity calculations & planning across machines, processes, and skills (CNC, fabrication, assembly, testing, special processes).
• Balance load vs capacity to minimise bottlenecks and idle time.
• Plan for ramp-ups and NPI programs.

B. Material Planning & Order Release

• Ensure timely release of production orders based on BOM readiness, material availability, and routing approvals.
• Coordinate with Stores, Procurement, and Engineering for BOM accuracy and material shortages.
• Drive material kitting and line-side availability.

C. Shopfloor Scheduling & Execution

• Create and monitor daily / weekly / monthly shopfloor schedules.
• Track WIP, cycle times, and throughput.
• Resolve schedule slippages by re-planning and escalation.
• Facilitate inter-department coordination to ensure smooth flow.

D. Order Closure & Delivery Commitments

• Ensure timely closure of production orders in SAP.
• Monitor dispatch readiness, test completion, and documentation.
• Drive On-Time Delivery (OTD) and adherence to customer schedules.
• Support customer audits, delivery reviews, and escalation meetings.

E. SAP & Systems

• Hands-on use of SAP PP / MM modules:
• Production order creation & release
• Capacity evaluation
• MRP runs and rescheduling
• Order confirmations & closures
• Maintain data integrity in routings, lead times, and work centres.

F. Continuous Improvement & Governance

• Track and report PPC KPIs: OTD, Schedule Adherence, WIP Aging, Capacity Utilisation.
• Support Lean / TOC / Kaizen initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 / customer-specific quality requirements.
