Job summary

Synergy Maritime is seeking a procurement professional to drive IT procurement strategy and governance. You will create POs/WOs, manage vendor relationships, and lead RFP/RFQ/RFI processes for ERP, cybersecurity, and cloud projects.

You will collaborate across IT operations, security, legal, and finance to ensure compliant, timely delivery while optimizing TCO and asset management. Flexible, results‑oriented role in Chennai.

• Experience in IT procurement lifecycle (POs, WOs) and vendor management.
• Knowledge of RFP/RFQ/RFI processes and contract negotiation.
• Ability to align procurement with IT and business goals.
• Familiarity with compliance, financial, and security guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create Purchase Orders/Work Orders and track them for timely delivery.
• Develop IT procurement strategy aligned with IT and business goals.
• Establish policies, standards, and procedures for IT procurement and vendor mgmt.
• Lead RFP, RFQ, and RFI processes for major IT initiatives.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and SLAs with vendors in coordination with legal/finance.
• Manage relationships with technology vendors and system integrators.
• Draft, review, and manage contracts including MSAs, NDAs, and SOWs.
• Track IT procurement budgets and report KPIs to IT leadership.
• Collaborate with IT operations, cybersecurity, finance, audit, and legal.
• Maintain end-to-end IT asset tracking from procurement to disposal.

Job description

Procurement Strategy & Governance: -

Create Purchase Orders/Work Orders and track them to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.

Develop and implement the IT procurement strategy aligned with IT and business goals.

Establish policies, standards, and procedures for IT procurement and vendor management.

Ensure alignment with financial, legal, compliance, and security guidelines.

Category Management:

Manage procurement for all IT categories: infrastructure, software licensing, SaaS, hardware, telecom, networking, cloud, and outsourced services.

Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction, lifecycle cost analysis, and value-based sourcing.

Sourcing & Tendering:-

Lead RFP, RFQ, and RFI processes for major IT initiatives including ERP, retail systems, cybersecurity, and cloud transitions.

Evaluate bids, negotiate pricing, terms, and SLAs in collaboration with legal, IT security, and finance teams.

knowledge in E-Waste Disposals & Destruction Policies.

Working on the Front End process of all supplier Invoices accounted on Finance Payable Application for internal stake holders approvals follow ups on vendor payments till closure.

Vendor Management:-

Manage relationships with key technology vendors and system integrators.

Monitor performance against SLAs, resolve disputes, and lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs).

Build alternate vendor base for risk mitigation and innovation.

Contract Management:-

Draft, review, and manage contracts, including MSAs, NDAs, and SOWs.

Budgeting & Spend Control:

Track IT procurement budgets, identify savings opportunities, and report procurement KPIs.

Provide forecast and spend analysis reports to IT leadership and finance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Liaise with IT operations, cybersecurity, finance, audit, legal, and business stakeholders.

Ensure procurement enables timely delivery of projects and operations.

IT Asset Management:-

Maintain end-to-end tracking of all IT assets (hardware, software, peripherals, and licenses) from procurement to disposal.

Ensure timely provisioning, deployment, maintenance, and replacement of IT assets.

Maintain an accurate and up-to-date IT asset inventory in the Asset Management System (AMS/CMDB)

Tag and label all IT assets with asset codes for traceability.

Perform periodic physical verification of assets (quarterly/annually) and reconcile discrepancies.

Generate asset reports for audits, compliance, and management review.

Track renewal timelines, license audits, AMC schedules, and compliance obligations.
