Job summary

Purview Services in India seeks an experienced IBM iSeries (AS/400) developer to design, code, test, and maintain RPG/RPGLE applications. You will work on DB2 for i, CL/CLLE, and SQL, deliver batch jobs, interfaces, and reports, and collaborate with analysts and other developers to meet business needs.

You will participate in migration and modernization efforts, provide production support, conduct code reviews, and write documentation.

Qualifications

• 6–9 years of hands-on IBM iSeries / AS400 development.
• Strong experience with RPGLE / RPG IV and IBM i debugging tools.
• Solid knowledge of CL/CLLE, DB2 for i, SQL, and DDS concepts.
• Experience with batch processing, job queues, and subfiles.
• Production support, troubleshooting, and system integration experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain IBM iSeries applications.
• Write RPG/RPGLE, CL/CLLE, and SQL code; optimize performance.
• Design DB2 for i data structures, queries, and procedures.
• Provide production support, debugging, and root-cause analysis.

Job Summary:
Responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing applications on the IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform. The role involves RPG programming, database development, application support, troubleshooting, and integration with business systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the IBM iSeries / AS/400 platform.
• Write and maintain programs using RPG / RPGLE / RPG IV.
• Develop and optimize applications using CL/CLLE and SQL.
• Work with DB2 for i for database design, queries, stored procedures, and data management.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform application enhancements, bug fixing, debugging, and production support.
• Develop and maintain batch jobs, interfaces, reports, and system utilities.
• Troubleshoot application and database issues and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support integration of iSeries applications with external systems and APIs.
• Perform code reviews, testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Monitor application performance and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Collaborate with business analysts, functional teams, and other developers.
• Participate in migration, modernization, and application upgrade initiatives.
• Prepare technical documentation, program specifications, and support procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
