Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Head to oversee end-to-end inventory operations for a high-volume warehouse. The role is responsible for managing inventory accuracy, stock movements, system transactions, and inventory controls while handling daily stock movement of approximately 3 lakh units (inbound and outbound) and maintaining an inventory of approximately 50 lakh units. The Inventory Head will ensure accurate inventory records, optimize stock availability, and lead continuous improvement initiatives through effective use of SAP, advanced Excel, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end inventory operations for a warehouse handling daily stock movement of approximately 3 lakh units and maintaining an inventory of approximately 50 lakh units.
- Ensure 100% inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, physical stock verification, and annual stock audits.
- Monitor all inventory transactions, including Goods Receipt (GR), Goods Issue (GI), stock transfers, adjustments, returns, and reconciliation within SAP/WMS.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of all SAP inventory transactions and master data updates.
- Analyze inventory reports to identify discrepancies, slow-moving inventory, excess stock, shortages, and ageing inventory.
- Develop and implement inventory control procedures to minimize stock losses and improve operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with Warehouse, Receiving, Dispatch, Procurement, Finance, and Planning teams to maintain inventory integrity.
- Lead root cause analysis for inventory variances and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports and dashboards for management.
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, productivity, and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and statutory regulations.
- Lead and develop the inventory team by setting performance goals, providing coaching, and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 710 years of experience in inventory management within a large warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing high-volume inventory operations with daily movement of approximately 3 lakh units and maintaining inventory of approximately 50 lakh units.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, stock reconciliation, cycle counting, and inventory audits.
- Hands-on experience with SAP (MM/WM) or other ERP/Warehouse Management Systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, dashboards, conditional formatting, and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SAP WM/EWM or other Warehouse Management Systems.
- Strong understanding of inventory accounting and warehouse operations.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience in KPI development, inventory analytics, and business reporting.
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive operational excellence.
