Role Summary
The International Trade Operations Manager will start by working closely with, and providing day-to-day operational support to, a senior trade and sales professional handling import/export and commodity trade across Europe and the Middle East covering shipment coordination, documentation, compliance, and receivables. This is deliberately structured as a growth role: as the person builds command of the trade cycle, customers, and suppliers, they will be given increasing exposure to pricing, negotiation, and direct customer/supplier ownership, with the intent of eventually handing them full sales responsibility .
Growth Path
- Phase 1 - Operations: Own the end-to-end execution of shipments, documentation, and compliance for Europe & Middle East trades, working alongside the senior trade lead on every deal.
- Phase 2 - Commercial exposure: Sit in on customer and supplier calls, pricing discussions, and negotiations; begin managing smaller accounts and suppliers directly under guidance.
- Phase 3 - Sales ownership: Take independent ownership of sourcing and sales for the defined region, with the senior lead moving into an oversight role.
The pace of this progression depends on the individual, but the intent behind this hire is to build a future regional sales owner, not just an operations hire.
