Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years Post MBA exp with knowledge of export-import regulations, LC transactions.
  • Masters degree (Tier-2 MBA) or PG Diploma in International Trade, Supply Chain Management, or Finance is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage commodity trades efficiently and accurately.
  • Coordinate with traders, counterparties, logistics providers, CHS, Shipping agencies and internal departments to ensure timely execution and settlement of trades.
  • Ensure adherence to risk management and compliance guidelines.
  • Monitor and report instances of non-compliance and take corrective actions.
  • Address customer complaints/escalations efficiently.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely query resolution.
  • Monitor customer experience scores and implement improvements.
  • Prepare and review trade documents as per LC terms and buyer-provided SI.
  • Ensure timely approval and issuance of documents before vessel departure.
  • Minimize trade documentation errors and delays in LC presentation.
  • Provide shipment updates to buyers upon dispatch.
  • Maintain real-time tracking of ongoing and future shipments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams for smooth shipment execution.
  • Ensure timely submission of insurance declaration sheets.
  • Ensure timely receipt of SI from buyers and verify LC drafts before issuance.
  • Validate LCs before shipment bookings and address required amendments.
  • Track and reduce delays in LC issuance and payments.
  • Issue contracts within one day of trade confirmation.
  • Ensure signed contracts are received before shipment planning.
  • Maintain and update contracts in ERP weekly.
  • Update shipment data in ERP after receiving the draft BL.
  • Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, CHAs, transporters, warehouses, surveyors.
  • Oversee booking, vessel schedules, stuffing, dispatch, and cargo tracking.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of shipping and trade documentation including BLs, invoices, COO, LC documents, and insurance papers.
  • Support trade finance activities including LC execution, discrepancy handling, and payment coordination.

Reporting to the Trade operations manager, the incumbent will be responsible for executing and managing commodity trades efficiently and accurately. This role involves coordinating with traders, counterparties, logistics providers, CHS, Shipping agencies and internal departments to ensure timely execution and settlement of trades.


Role & responsibilities

Compliance
