Job summary

Ocean Life Spaces in Chennai is seeking a skilled Project Planner to lead interior fit-out projects from initiation to completion. You will develop execution plans, schedules and coordinate design, site, procurement, and subcontracting teams to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires coordinating project managers, engineers, and vendors, managing budgets, variations, and cost optimization, as well as engaging clients and consultants with clear progress updates and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage interior fit-out projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop project execution plans, schedules, and resource requirements.
• Ensure smooth coordination between design, site, procurement, and subcontracting teams.
• Lead and coordinate project managers, engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Allocate resources effectively to achieve project milestones.
• Conduct regular project meetings and track action items.
• Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cost performance.
• Control variations, claims, and additional works.
• Coordinate with QS and commercial teams for cost optimization.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
• Manage client expectations, approvals, and project communications.
• Provide regular progress updates and resolve project concerns.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, QA/QC procedures, and safety standards.
• Monitor site progress, workmanship quality, and project deliverables.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and HSE teams to maintain project standards.
• Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Identify delays, risks, and constraints and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure timely completion of project activities.
• Coordinate with procurement teams for timely material and equipment availability.
• Manage subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Review and approve project-related submissions and documentation.
• Maintain project records, reports, meeting minutes, and progress documentation.
• Prepare project status reports for management review.
• Ensure proper project handover and close-out documentation.
