Job summary

NIVEA is seeking a skilled Maintenance/Instrumentation technician to perform regular breakdown and planned maintenance on fill pack lines, mixers, utilities and ETP at its Ahmedabad facility.

The role covers calibration/testing of instrumentation, sensor diagnostics, PLC/controls troubleshooting, and UPS/pneumatic system maintenance, with emphasis on safety and GMP awareness.

Qualifications

• Experience with instrumentation/automation maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety devices, industrial safety, PPEs, LOTO.
• Exposure to TPM/Kaizen (5S).
• Awareness of basic quality systems and product quality.
• GMP knowledge.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Documentation practices including AM/PM checklists and breakdown analysis reports.

Responsibilities

• Regular breakdown and planned maintenance on fill pack lines, mixers, utilities and ETP.
• Calibration and testing of measuring instruments like gauges, transmitters, valves, switches, meters and actuators.
• Testing and troubleshooting of sensors including proximity, photoelectric, encoders and thermocouples.
• Testing and troubleshooting of PLC control panels, wiring, VFDs, servo drives, timers and counters.
• Maintenance of weighing scales, checkweighers and UPS.
• Testing and troubleshooting of pneumatic components like solenoid valves and cylinders.
• Knowledge of P&ID and control wiring drawings.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Regular breakdown and planned maintenance on fill pack lines, Mixers, Utility & ETP
• Calibration & testing of measuring instruments like pressure/temperature gauge/transmitters, Control valves, pressure switch, flow switch, pH/conductivity transmitters, flow meters, level transmitters, level switches, actuators, slip rings etc.
• Testing/troubleshooting of sensors like Inductive/capacitive proximity sensors, photoelectric sensors, magnetic reed switches, door lock sensors, Laser sensors, ultrasonic sensors, thermocouples, Encoders, etc.
• Testing/troubleshooting of PLC control panel, Control wiring, VFDs, servo motors & drives, Timers, counters etc.
• Calibration & maintenance of weighing scales & checkweighers.
• Maintenance of UPS.
• Testing/troubleshooting of pneumatic components like solenoid valves, cylinders, rotary actuators, hygienic valves, etc.
• instrumentation/automation maintenance.
• 420 mA, 0–10 V and digital signals. 2-wire and 4-wire instrument connections.
• PNP/NPN sensors and proximity/photoelectric sensors.
• Understand of multimeter operation parallel) series Loop calibrator, pressure calibrator and other measuring instruments.
• Knowledge about HMI operation and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of alarms, interlocks, permissions and feedback signals.
• Knowledge of solenoid valves, pneumatic cylinders and FRL systems. interlocks and emergency-stop circuits.
• Basic knowledge of printers, coding machines (Laser coding, inkjet coding machine)
• Knowledge of P&ID & control wiring drawing.

Preferred candidate profile

• Knowledge of safety devices, industrial safety, PPE’s , LOTO
• TPM/ManEx knowledge (5 S, Kaizen)
• Knowledge about basic quality systems and awareness on product quality.
• GMP knowledge.
• Problem solving/ troubleshooting skills.
