Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation & Maintenance Specialist in India to lead critical maintenance activities, calibrate and install sensors, PLCs, and SCADA systems, and ensure ISO and regulatory compliance.

You will coordinate safety through permits and JSA reviews while improving plant reliability. You will plan preventive and predictive maintenance, manage spares, support automation upgrades, and partner with engineering teams to minimize downtime and drive continuous

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in maintenance, instrumentation, and automation.
• Experience with planning and executing preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenances.
• Familiarity with ISO, cGMP, and regulatory requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Recognize hazards during critical maintenance and coordinate safety requirements through permits, LOTO, and JSA reviews.
• Maintain, calibrate, and install instruments including sensors, IPC, PLC, HMI, and control panels.
• Identify and rectify instrument issues; ensure proper mounting, protection, and operation of instruments.
• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance; manage spare availability.
• Support automation systems to minimize downtime and implement backups for control systems.
• Perform root cause analysis for instrumentation failures and implement corrective actions.
• Handle procurement processes for spares and oversee contractor work for fabrication and insulation.
• Identify process abnormalities, utilize 5S/Kaizen, and coordinate small projects with plant leads.

Job Description

• You will be responsible for recognizing potential hazards during critical maintenance and coordinating safety requirements through work permits, LOTO procedures, and JSA reviews to ensure 100% compliance.
• You will be responsible for handling the maintenance, calibration, and installation of instruments like, Temperature, pressure, flow, level, humidity sensors, Load cells, speed sensors, encoders, Proximity, photoelectric, and IR sensors, IPC, HMI, PLCand control panels, ensuring accuracy and reliability in plant operations.
• Identify and rectify instrument‑related issues such as signal fluctuation, false alarms, interlock failures, and sensor misalignment andEnsure all instruments are mechanically healthy, properly mounted, protected, and operational.
• You will be responsible for planning and executing preventive, predictive, and shutdown maintenance activities, maintaining good housekeeping, and managing critical spare availability efficiently.
• You will be responsible for supporting automation systems to minimize downtime, implementing control system backups, and identifying opportunities for new areas of automation.
• You will be responsible for managing Preventive Maintenanceactivities as per schedule, maintaining accurate records, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with ISO, cGMP, and statutory requirements.
• You will be responsible for troubleshooting instrumentation issues, coordinating with engineering teams, and issuing new instruments to user departments for seamless operations.

• Responsible for participating in TPM activities by identifying, reporting, and supporting closure of instrumentation‑related abnormalities andResponsible for performing root cause analysis (RCA) for instrumentation failures and implementing corrective actions.
• You will be responsible for initiating purchase requisitions, inspecting received spares, and overseeing contractor work related to fabrication and insulation, while executing annual maintenance plans.
• You will be responsible for identifying process abnormalities, implementing lean tools such as 5S, Kaizen, and Autonomous Maintenance, and coordinating small project modifications with plant leads.
