Job summary

JSW Cement is seeking a skilled Instrumentation and Control Engineer to maintain and optimize automation systems in its cement processing plants. You will handle DCS ABB 800XA, PLC/SCADA (Rockwell/Siemens) and monitor instrumentation for reliability.

Responsibilities include root cause analysis, calibration of weighing and level transmitters, and network troubleshooting (Profibus/Profinet/Modbus). Ensure safety compliance and support audits and energy optimization.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of VRM, RP cement grinding unit instrumentation and process.
• General instrumentation and control monitoring incl PID, temperature, pressure, flow meters.
• Routine field maintenance and inspection in process plants.
• Root cause analysis (why-why, fishbone) and corrective actions.
• Automation and control system design, selection, modification, and troubleshooting.
• DCS ABB 800XA programming/troubleshooting and PLC/SCADA networks.
• Knowledge of VFDs (ABB, Siemens, Allen-Bradley).
• Troubleshooting Profibus/Profinet/Modbus networks and reconfiguration.
• Modify E&I drawings for improvements.
• Calibration of weigh feeders, weigh bridges, weigh bins, belt weighers, level transmitters.
• Compliance with statutory requirements and ISO ENMS audits; energy auditing.
• Kaizen implementation for plant performance and ROI.
• Monitoring plant KPI and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain instrumentation and control systems across process plant sections.
• Analyze breakdowns and perform root cause analysis with corrective actions.
• Calibrate instrumentation including weigh feeders, weigh bridges and level transmitters.
• Monitor and record PID, temperature, pressure, flow, and hydraulic parameters.
• Ensure safety, follow statutory rules, and participate in ISO/ENMS audits.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Good knowledge of VRM, RP cement grinding unit, RMHS and Packing plant instrumentation effective maintenance and also should have process knowledge.

2. Monitoring of general instrumentation and control, PID controller, PCB, temperature and pressure gauge, Flow meter, Hydraulic system etc and maintain records for the same.

3. Perform routine and non-routine instrumentation field maintenance and inspection work to ensure optimal availability and reliability of instrumentation and control devices and systems in process plants.

4. Analysis of breakdown, failure and chronic problem, find the root cause (why-why , fish bone analysis) and taking corrective action and Continuous monitoring and Response to problem reported by production management.

5. Manage the technical design, selection, specification, modification and troubleshooting of automation, instrumentation and control systems in process plants to provide instrumentation and control engineering design and support to production, maintenance and project teams.

6. Strong Knowledge and hands on experience on programming/ Troubleshooting of DCS(ABB) 800XA, PLC/SCADA (Rockwell, Siemens...etc.), and its network issue and reconfiguration.

7. Knowledge about VFDs (ABB, Siemens, Allen Bradly...etc.)

8. Troubleshooting of Profibus DP/ Profibus PA / Profinet / Modbus network issue and reconfiguration,

9. Able to study, troubleshooting and Modification of any E&I Drawing for betterment.

10. Calibration for equipment like weigh feeders, weigh bridge, weighing bins, belt weighers, Level transmitters.

11. Ensure to comply with all statutory requirement of the plant as laid down under various statutory rules. Preparing of documentation for ISO, ENMS auditing process and able to participate in auditing. Energy audit of electrical and heat energy, coal energy water consumption at utility points to minimize consumption.

12. Implementation of kaizen in plant for plant performance, energy saving and calculation of ROI.

13. Effectively involvement in regular monitoring of plant KPI and its enhancement.

14. Good Knowledge about SAP industrial modules.

15. Planning/proposal and utilization of annual budget for plant maintenance and improvement jobs. Preparation of material indents of instruments and electrical spares as per requirement and ensures to maintain the stock of inventory for smooth functioning of plant activities.

16. Good knowledge about industrial safety and its standards. Ensure to follow safety guideline and address to the issues within least possible time

Strong Knowledge and hands on experience on programming/ Troubleshooting of DCS(ABB) 800XA, PLC/SCADA (Rockwell, Siemens...etc.), and its network issue and reconfiguration.
