The In-charge – Wards is responsible for managing daily nursing operations and ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care within the assigned ward. The includes staff supervision, duty allocation, patient care coordination, inventory monitoring, clinical documentation oversight, and compliance with hospital policies. The Ward In-charge works closely with doctors and hospital management to maintain smooth ward functioning and improve patient satisfaction.

• Supervise and coordinate all nursing activities within the assigned ward.
• Allocate duties and responsibilities to nursing staff according to patient workload and staffing requirements.
• Prepare and manage nursing duty rosters in coordination with the nursing administration.
• Ensure adequate nursing coverage across shifts and arrange replacements when required.
• Monitor the quality of nursing care provided to admitted patients.
• Conduct ward rounds to assess patient care, staff performance, and operational requirements.
• Ensure timely monitoring of vital signs and implementation of prescribed treatments.
• Verify compliance with medication administration and patient identification protocols.
• Coordinate with doctors regarding patient conditions, treatment plans, and clinical concerns.
• Ensure accurate nursing documentation, patient records, and shift handover reports.
• Monitor patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and bed availability.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, hygiene, and patient safety standards.
• Monitor the availability and proper use of medicines, equipment, linen, and ward supplies.
• Coordinate maintenance and reporting of faulty medical equipment.
• Address patient and family concerns and escalated unresolved issues to the appropriate authority.
• Support emergency response and ensure prompt communication with relevant clinical teams.
• Train, guide, and evaluate nursing staff to maintain professional standards.
• Conduct or support nursing audits, incident reviews, and quality improvement activities.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, nursing procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare ward reports and communicate staffing, patient care, and operational issues to nursing management.
