Job summary

Hi-Focus is seeking an Import Executive to drive end-to-end import operations, inbound logistics, and supply chain compliance in Chennai. You will coordinate with procurement, international suppliers, shipping lines, and CHAs to ensure seamless material flow.

The role requires 3–5 years of hands-on import operations experience, strong knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and port handling, plus expertise in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Dynamics) for tracking.

Qualifications

• Graduate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Import Documentation & Compliance: B/L, AWB, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Bill of Entry, and Import Licenses.
• Customs & Trade Regulations: Knowledge of Indian Customs procedures (ICEGATE) etc., FTP guidelines, HS codes.
• Incoterms Proficiency: Apply FOB, CIF, EXW, and DDP in risk transfer and cost allocation.
• Banking & Financial Instruments: Experience with LC, bank guarantees, transfers, and duty payments.
• Software Literacy: Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, shipment tracking) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) for supply chain tracking.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Import Executive to drive our end-to-end import operations, inbound logistics, and supply chain compliance. In this role, you will be the core link between our procurement teams, international suppliers, shipping lines, and Custom House Agents (CHAs) to ensure seamless material flow.

Role & responsibilities

• Import Documentation & Compliance: Deep familiarity with Bills of Lading (B/L), Airway Bills (AWB), Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Bill of Entry, and Import Licenses.
• Customs & Trade Regulations: Working knowledge of Indian Customs procedures (ICEGATE portal navigation is a plus), duty structures, classification of goods under the Harmonized System (HS codes), and Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) guidelines.
• Incoterms Proficiency: Clear understanding and application of global trade rules, specifically FOB, CIF, EXW, and DDP, regarding risk transfer and cost responsibilities.
• Banking & Financial Instruments: Experience handling payment terms, including Letters of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees, wire transfers, and processing customs duty payments.
• Software Literacy: Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, shipment tracking sheets) and experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) for supply chain tracking.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Any Graduate or Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, or a related field.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in handling import operations, shipping, and documentation.
• Strong working knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, and port handling processes.
