Job summary

ESCON Elevators is seeking an Import Purchase Executive for our Rasayani factory near Panvel, Navi Mumbai. The role focuses on cost-effective procurement of materials, vendor management, and smooth import logistics.

You will handle end-to-end import activities, coordinate with international suppliers, manage documentation, and ensure compliance with GST and SOPs. This position requires working at the factory and collaborating with cross-functional teams in Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Graduate / Diploma in Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
• 35 years of experience in Import Purchase / Procurement.
• Experience in engineering, elevator, manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of Incoterms, import procedures, and shipment coordination will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Import end-to-end purchase activities from enquiry to material receipt.
• Coordinate with international suppliers for quotations, negotiations, and order confirmations.
• Process import purchase orders and ensure timely shipment execution.
• Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, and logistics partners for customs clearance and delivery.
• Vendor management: identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors; negotiate terms.
• Procurement & coordination: ensure timely procurement per production schedules and coordinate with stores, QA, production, installation, and accounts teams.

Job Purpose

To ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, spares, and services required for manufacturing, installation, and maintenance operations, while maintaining quality standards and vendor compliance.

Import Procurement

• Handle end-to-end import purchase activities from enquiry to material receipt.
• Coordinate with international suppliers for quotations, negotiations, and order confirmations.
• Process import purchase orders and ensure timely shipment execution.
• Manage import documentation such as:
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Packing List
  • Bill of Lading / Airway Bill
  • Certificate of Origin
  • Insurance & Shipment Documents
• Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, and logistics partners for customs clearance and delivery.

Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable domestic and overseas vendors.
• Conduct price comparisons and negotiate commercial terms.
• Maintain vendor database, supplier performance records, and compliance documents.
• Build strong supplier relationships for timely support and improved commercial terms.

Procurement & Coordination

• Ensure timely procurement as per production and project schedules.
• Coordinate with Stores, QA, Production, Installation, and Accounts teams.
• Follow up for shipment schedules, dispatches, deliveries, and pending materials.
• Resolve issues related to shortages, delays, damages, or quality concerns.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain proper records of PRs, POs, invoices, GRNs, shipment tracking, and import files.
• Ensure compliance with import regulations, GST requirements, and company SOPs.
• Maintain accurate Tally entries and procurement MIS reports.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.

Cost Control & Reporting

• Track lead times, pricing trends, and procurement costs.
• Work towards cost savings through vendor negotiations and alternate sourcing.
• Prepare procurement reports, pending order trackers, and MIS updates.
• Monitor inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and excess inventory.
